.875 Dam?
Hey guys. Hoping you guys can shed some light on my DAM reading .875. Just ran my AP logs on my 16 wrx running the ots stage 1 + map. Mods are an ETS intake and just a cat back. I always ran at 1.00 DAM but just this day I decided to plug in the AP just to check if everything is running right. Everything seemed good from the fine knocks to the a/F. Then I just saw the .875 for the first time and thought to myself wtf is that. Car idled normally and with wot pulls didn't register any knocks. Is this normal? I pump 92 octane and run the 91 ots map. Could this just be bad gas? Really scaring me into getting an etune from Brentuning. Could it be just the weather? It was around 85 degrees today and maybe some heatsoak action was going on? Thanks for the help.

Happened to me once and only once due a bad tank of gas. I topped off with shell and unplugged my battery and never had an issue again. You could reset through the accessport if you want to.

I too have a 2016 now tuned stage 2 by Cobb/Surgeline and DAM seems to do that every once in a while. Between that and the FBK/FKL readings of 1.05 to 1.41 occasionally drove me crazy. I talked to the tuner and he said not to worry as the sensors on these cars are a little different than previous models. He explained a lot of things that I tried to understand but pretty much just made me cross eyed and confused. The few things that I do remember are many things like something rattling or having the A/C on can cause these readings. I have sent him quite a few 3rd gear full throttle logs and he assures me they all look great. The last thing he told me is that all the AP monitoring can be a great tool if you know exactly how to understand them but if you don't it can also be a nightmare. I now only hook it up to take logs on the weekend or for any spirited driving I might do through the mountains. No more staring at it every day because it keeps me from enjoying the car and as long as the tuner, who I trust 100%, says it's fine I feel much better now.

That's my best guess. Filled up at the usual chevron station. Drove it to work this morning and still staying at .875. The funny thing is the car feels normal. Hoping this changes after my next fill up. I reset my ecu as well and it still stuck at .875.

Yeah It's hard to ignore completely. I would give Cobb a call and ask them anything you are concerned about. The Cobb/Surgeline folks here are always happy to answer any of my questions when I have them. Chris their tuner gave me some things to watch out for after the tune was done and while I haven't seen anything he warned me about, I was still getting nervous seeing any numbers especially having to do with knock. It doesn't help when I'm on here every day reading people asking about DAM, FBK and FKL readings and people tell them to stop driving or their car will blow up. Since Cobb is your tuner now even with an off the shelf tune, I bet they will set your mind at ease or tell you if something is wrong.
