Ok so im about to come into some NEW MONEY (WAHOOOOOOOO) about a 1K or more and i have a 2007 WRX Stage 2 Perrin tune, SPT Intake, Gimmick SS, Group N Trans Mount, COBB Sway bar kit, upper strut brace F/R. i was thinking STI TM intercooler, UP Pipe and grimspeed crosspipe and a set of wheels what ya think. Or go for a protune and maybe STI intercooler and UP pipe.

No need for an up-pipe or crosspipe.
As eggroll said, VF39, STI TMIC, tune. Set of wheels and good tires are always nice too. |

Protune will always be your best spent money if you have the right person tune it. With adding more and bolt ons i think a protune is much more beneficial. You will be fine with ots tunes or e tunes with basic bolt ons. But even at that the before and after of just stage2 from ots to protune was a nice upgrade and knowing thats its tuned exactly for your car is well worth the money. Cuz it could end up costing you much more down the road. Just my thoughts, alot of people are perfectly fine with skiping out on a dyno tune tho. Just seems like its a must have if you care about your car runing the best it possibly can. Wheels and such are also nice to but all that stuff is worthless if your car is not running properly and is always having problems.

While I did enjoy stage 2, saving for a bit and doing a VF48 swap the right way was worth every penny IMO. I think the end cost for me was about $1,600 for all parts, labor, and tune (you could definitely do it cheaper). I'd do it again in a heart beat.
Parts included in my upgrade... VF48 Perrin turbo inlet STI TMIC Grimmspeed 3 port EBCS Walbro 255 fuel pump Dyno tune w/ Accessport Previously installed parts... COBB 3" TBE SPT intake The VF series turbos are perfect for a DD, IMO. They will hit 300whp safely and reliably and the spool is fairly quick as well. So I vote for this route. |

The correct response is put it in the bank and save it for a rainy day.

I clicked save also. How many miles are you at? Maybe get some preventative maintenance done now, and use what you have left over to start piecing together the next stage for your car. And that will give you more time to find better deal when you don't have a grand burning a hole in your pocket.
