The car is black....NOT!

Unhappy

I'm glad you are ok, Ken. Sorry to hear about the ride, but just remember at the end of the day it is just a car. You will probably start feeling very sore within the next few days. So many close calls and actual accidents lately, I don't know what's going on in the GVRD. Stay safe out there, guys and gals.

^Pretty much what the other guys said. Good to hear you're ok and this isn't a RIP thread. T-bones are the collisions are pretty bad.

You took the words right out my mouth. When something like this happens it makes you rethink your priorities. I hope you're recovery is quick and that there aren't any long term consequences.

This past week has been crazy with accidents. I keep hearing of major stuff happening on the news. Thursday afternoon I was in Coquitlam and fire trucks and ambulances were going back and forth all over the place .

why is it always the cautious drivers that would never dare drink and drive who get pwnd by drunk drivers? It's like they can smell intelligence and responsibility and lock on to it.

Im sure the best will come from this situation though, who wants to start a pool guesing the drunk driver was driving an integra
:P

good energy my friend

it seems in the recent accidents, although having totalled cars, the occupants have been pretty much fine... that's at least good to know...

glad you're alright...

Glad to hear you are alright but sorry to hear about your car.
As a few have said, a car is a car, your subie took one for you.

thanks guys.

thankfully he was a bit in the bag, and my suby's firewall? i geuss or the part of the frame there did a number in his engine bay/radiator. he wasn't going anywhere. i called the cops as soon as i got out of the car, and one actually stopped that was driving by about 30 seconds after i got off the phone with 911.

No, i don't think there's anything on my car that i've bought from forum members....
Keiho - thanks but i think if i need a lawyer we'll stick with the family lawyer. he's a good guy.

pics are gone... i think hosting site is down temporarily.

Thanks for pics and quick response - I had a theory...

Seems that the summer is "death" season for Subarus, but then again maybe so is winter? I just don't recall hearing about as many write offs in the winter over the past few years.

Wow. Lucky you had no passenger. The 5-star safety rating comes in handy!

Word of advice: don't go with a lawyer just because he's a 'good guy'. Make sure your family lawyer knows exactly what he's doing in a civil litigation matter like this one. Lawyers can't be good at everything, and the good ones know that.

yeah the door and my quarterpanel took most of the beating. but the frame is pretty screwed up, as of right now only one door closes properly. did the 99's have a 5 star rating? i thought they were 4 star...

Yes, i will of course make sure i have a lawyer who knows what he's doing. though i'm pretty sure i won't need one. unless ICBC tries to screw me?

ICBC WILL "screw" you, it's their business to. They're not going to give everybody a huge settlement because they want to, they'd go broke and we'd pay way more to insure our cars.

See a doctor now, get it documented, have a lawyer (who is an expert at ICBC injury claims/settlements) represent you and stop talking with ICBC.

Even if you don't feel any pain now, don't take any chances because it could potentially come back and bite you in the ass. I know plenty of people who felt fine and settled with ICBC for an "ok" sum, only to have neck, shoulder or back problems rear their ugly head a year or more down the road. Too bad then, you have to live with the problem because you've settled.

And yes, even if your family lawyer is a good guy it doesn't mean he's experienced or even handles this particular type of case.
