Tuning Questions
Have a 2000rs, 04' ej257, LGT 5 spd. I am completing some changes and upgrades, and a tune will be mandatory. I have several questions.
Current Mods: catless tbe, 03 'wrx TMIC, MBC, spt short ram intake, Mods to be: Grimmspeed 3 port BCS, ebay large TMIC, new 160 thermostat, oil pressure gauge, wideband o2 and related gauges, aftermarket catless uppipe, gimmick turbo inlet (intake, tbe left unchamged). To my knowledge, I have a few options: 1...get a temporary e-tune and flash ecu to even be able to run the new setup enough to data log. Then data log, send organized data to reputable tuner via internet and get a tune back, then continue to monitor data to ensure tune is ok, have adjustments made accordingly. 2...get a temporary e-tune, baby car 35-40 miles down highway to efi logics, get professional open source tune 3...(dont feel safe trying this, need feedback) baby car to efi logics without changing tune. Another odd issue I have experienced is that due to my spliced wiring harness, the ecu can not be flashed in my car. To flash it, i have to swap it into another car, flash it, and swap it back. This may be unneeded info but it is a hassle to need another wrx/sti on hand to flash the ecu. Thanks ahead of time

no injectors/ drastic intake changes so you will be fine to drive normally to tuner of your choice if you'd rather do that instead of an e-tune? Do you have any problems with an e-tune?

I'm very interested in an e-tune. Just need a tatrix and romraider on my laptop, then someone to supply the tune. It would save me $450 or so of tuner charges and give me the ability to change the tune at will. Once i get the car back together and get the wideband on, it'll be safe to do some data logging? Doesnt data logging usually entail WOT pulls? Paranoid about nuking my engine

DO NOT drive the car after installing the 3 port bcs without first retuning your wgdc's. You'll be overboosting pretty bad. I guess another option would be to drive on wastegate pressure until you get a proper tune.

Ty for the warning...planning on getting a temporary tune for the data logging process before driving at all. I figured going from MBC to 3 port would drastically impact things.
