Default Advice needed

C/N's - Took a long sweeping off-ramp pretty fast coming off the 99 and coming out of it the check engine light came on. Didn't go into limp mode. Block from home so I chance it at a slow pace. Little low on oil so I top it up. Restarted the car a few times but cel is still blinking on the dash. All other fluids are ok, no leaks, no smells, temp was ok, car was driving like a champ and nothing out of the ordinary other than the cel after the hard corner. Was running fine in the garage when looking it over.

AM I ok getting it to work tomorrow (15km)?
Would a long sweeping turn at a pretty good clip cause this? Why?
Anyone in Surrey/South Surrey/Langley are able to pull the code for me after work tomorrow?

Checked the faqs and it listed Kuldud in Delta area but I don't think he's on here that much. Same as Gethin for Langley but I don't think he checks on here that often either. Let me know if anyone can assist. Thanks VICers

Cheers

I searched a bit and found that a common problem that sets off the CEL without any superficial indicators is a faulty knock sensor.

If your car's CEL is on but not in limp mode, you're completely safe to drive for a bit until you get a chance to go to the shop. The CEL isn't one of those things that means you need to shut down your car immediately and get it towed to the closest available mechanic... not all the time, anyway

usually if the CEL is blinking it's sth related to mis-fire? just fixed another knock sensor and I don't recall any CEL blinking...

yet I think I have also seen blinking CEL because MAF sensor wiring harness was not plugged in properly, Vehicle Speed Sensor & Neutral Position Switch were giving out some fault codes...

I will suggest you to get it check ASAP (still got my #?) to prevent damage to catalyst if it's mis-firing, easy on throttle until code is checked...Aren't you due for an oil change anyways? :P

Eric, I am due to come see you for an oil change yes but can't this weekend. I'm doing the Weekend to End Womens Cancer 60km walk this weekend so I was going to park it. Unless this is something you wanted to do tonight after work? Are you able to pull codes? Doubt this is something you wanted to do on a Friday evening though. Let me know.

Jeff, that could definitely work for me. At least I can maybe ease my mind about what it is. Lets see what 5 Zigen says about tonight. Thanks for the responses guys, really appreciate it.
