Darvocet vs Vicodin
What are the differences/similarities between these 2? What about their painkilling efficiency?

darvocet is ALOT stronger than vicodin. if you are going to take darvocet, you need to take it on a stomach full of food otherwise you are going to get very sick. truth.

Darvocet's active ingredients are propoxyphene, a narcotic (opiate) pain medication (analgesic), and acetaminophen (a non-narcotic pain medication), which relieves pain better than either medication taken alone.
acetaminophen is found in tylenol. vicodin: Each tablet contains: hydrocodone bitartrate* 5 mg and acetaminophen 500 mg. hydrocodone is derived from codeine and used as an analgesic and cough sedative |

Vicodin comes in various strengths, the strongest ones are 10/650s. They made me dizzy. I had to break them in half.

Just eat four of each, you won't feel a thing when you fall down the stairs! J/K or maybe I'm not.

Vicodin is evil, Darvocet isn't.
Thanks to heart surgery and migraines, I've become an opiate expert: Dilaudid (hydromorphone) - good high-strength opiate, beats morphine, don't have major surgery without it morphine - overrated, not strong enough if you're seriously injured, plenty strong for a bad headache though Percocet (oxycodone) - the best multipurpose painkiller, yummie (I'll take between 1/2 to 10 of the 5mg pills for a headache ) Darvocet - eh, works fine, bit more exotic than percocet but pretty equivalent Demerol - evil, more side-effects and not as strong as morphine. If you want a milder opiate than morphine, stick with oxycodone/Percocet Vicodin (hydrocodone) - like Demerol, but milder. Stronger than codeine, milder than oxycodone, might be bad for the ears if you take a ton, tends to make me vomit Ultram - somewhat stronger than codeine and bit longer acting, in theory is better for long-term use, funny biochem properties, exotic Codeine - too mild to bother with, take ibuprofen or a real narcotic instead, although it is rather good for a cough and makes me feel oddly cheerful |

Ive been on every painkiller known to man, morphine is the best. I was hooked to a morphine pump for 6 days, $2,000 worth.
One time after a surgury they gave me amytriptyline and kept giving me more and more till my eardrums short circuted and now my ears ring constantly, like when you get out of a loud concert. FTW |

I have had Codene, Vicodin, Darvocet, and Morpphine, all had the same effect - none. I even tried taking two Darvocet or Vicodin with a couple of drinks in an attempt to "intensify" the effects. Nothing, they might as well been sugar pills.
After my surgery, they gave me three heavy doses of Morphine, and still nothing. Dilaudid is the only thing I can take that works, and even then it just cuts the pain back some, it donen't make me dizzy or loopy. I have odd pain receptors. |
