Default Going to the strip for the first time ever tommorow, any pointers?

02 wrx, 80k miles, mods:

-uppipe
-downpipe
-catelss exhaust
-utec
-aps dr650
-stock fuel/drivetrain/turbo

will be running a 100 octane map tuned by jorge for 12.2:1, 26 degree timing ceiling and ~18psi of boost, launch control is activated and i at least plan on doing flatfoot shifts (set to 5k, injector cut)

i've never launched the car before, but i've driven 5 speed a long time, not really sure how i am going to tackle the holeshot but i would be overjoyed if i could reach 12.99 tommorow (will be 60 degrees, car runs very strong on 100)

not really much in the way of weight reduction, just a removed jack & spare

any tips?

Good luck Shawn! Just remember... take those gears out to 7k so you always fall back into that sweet spot at 5k. Keep your shifts quick and positive. Don't dally on that clutch. You'll more then likely be shifting into 4th, and you really have to make sure you get 3rd out to that 7k-7100 mark to get the biggest push out of 4th.

Empty that tank and put in a gallon or two of 100 at a time. Keep weight light. I'm a big fan of run what ya brung. But the 60lb box in the back is almost a tenth right there.

if you have time, take out your rear bumper support. just be careful on the drive up there.

Since you have launch control, you should be golden. I was gonna say don't dump the clutch but you should be aware of that already. Good luck on your runs. Let us know how it goes. I'm kinda interested on what your 60' is gonna be like with the launch control.

he's in preparation for larger things heh.

Surprisingly, with the way it's tuned, it actually responds well on the stock turbo.

Not sure how it will be for you, but for me, I don't get any good 60' times launching at anything under 5500. I try to slip the clutch but I always end up basically dropping it. MY strategy is good for a 1.8 60' time on my car.
