yes, I am sorry about the repetitive posting on your thread JDMSTA. I will start another thread under the Impreza forums for the SMD halo questions and install if I go that route. I am leaning towards the SMD's around the round part of the headlight, instead of around the projector itself, more like the E55 BMW, or some E46 have them installed the same way. Thank you for your help and input advise, well appreciated.

As for the color I used? I used the "flat black" color for my housing.
u mentioned that u used the highbeam splitter.. how have the cheap-o LEDs handled the higher voltage when u turn ur high beams on? Any burnout issues?

^ happy to hear that! Did u need the "decoder" that is offered to go with some of the bulbs out there? I'm considering getting some similar LEDs to make my DRLs yellow. I never use my high beams anyways..

nah, no decoder of some sort needed. the only thing I needed was some in line spliced resistors for the blinkers since I've upgraded those to some cree leds as well.

Hello,

Can you please tell me what you used for the eyebrow light? I don't know what to buy to change it.

did you retrofit yours too? Any pictures of the finish fogs?

You see the leveling screws, I do not want to loose those, that would be the only way to adjust the fog lights, and the mounting points/brackets need to be retained as well.

hey, didnt get a chance to retrofit the fogs with HID if that is what you are asking. All I've done was add the fogs to the car....getting the car back from the shop soon since the accident, so I'll be able to work on it more. However, I am afraid I won't be adding HIDs to the fogs because I don't want the housing to melt and catch fire like an STI that was posted previously. The front bumper caught fire bc of HIDs in the fogs.

Excellent thread, I just finished reading it all. Subscribed! I'm also interested in retrofitting my fogs so keep us up to date.

Alright guys, I've decided to put my fogs back to factory and just use LEDs on it and mod it to use as DRL. Reason being, I only use my fogs in bad weather like rain and especially snowy nights. Well after a couple of snowy nights driving. My retrofitted fogs are pretty much useless. All the snow and slush just piles up against the fogs which pretty much makes it useless. That's why now I've decided to do a quad setup instead using the tiny Morimoto Matchbox projectors in place of the high beam area and use that as my fogs instead. Well enough talking, now onto pictures. Sorry for the daytime pictures being kinda crappy because I took it with my camera phone.

How ya'll like my "switchback" LED strips?

Those led strips look glorious! do u have both amber and white strips installed? I'm not sure what I'm looking at... it almost looks like ur turn signals are on too.

yeah I kept the original blinker since its more brighter in the daytime. The strips I used are these http://www.exledshop.com/universal-l...ver2-copy.html and they're not that bight in the daytime. Its more of an aesthetic than anything. I also wired leds inside the Matchbox projectors as amber blinkers as well. I hardly use the fogs like I said, only in bad weather so I figured I go that route.

I'd wait for Trs to start carrying the x.strip, they're the same leds as the xbaleds which are very bright

I dunno, the way the XBALED rings voltage regulators failing like crazy. I'd wait even longer for them to release a fix for that.

Oh its not wired to be independant. I just did quick mod to run it as DRL instead of the high beam. That pic there with the fogs and inner projectors on is just with the e-brake down to activate the DRL.

Can you please post how you did this mod? Can you do this to make any light a DRL instead of the high beams??

I would like to get some bright LEDs for the "eye brow" lights and make them my DRLs.

This was the mod that I did even though the walk through is for the WRX but its the same. I don't see why it won't work for they "eye brow" light as DRL. http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show....php?t=2383843

Good point... didn't even think about that.

Edit: After quickly checking out that thread, it appears as though the answer is yes.

This wiring acts like how it will act from OEM. DRL on when either on drive or e-brake is down. When you turn your low beam on, then DRL is off.

He has his low beams and fogs on at the same time in his pics tho... is that because the fog switch will override the DRLs?
