I have a lot of mods and wanted to know if I could reuse them or would I need to sell them and buy new ones? bigger injectors, turbo, up pipe, down pipe, front mount intercooler, exhaust, etc.. also with same mods done to a 207 what kind of power should I expect? I am at about 300whp and if I do the swap would like to put down more than that (with a good tune of course) is this doable? thanks in advance..
It's a fairly direct swap for v7 / v8. v9 if you can find an ECU that will work (or you need the ignition from the donor, which usually doesn't happen.)

Obviously these will come with stock STi injectors, if that's not enough for you, you need to move injectors over.

Power-wise on the same turbo you will generally see a small bump in peak power from the better flowing heads. Not huge, but some. AVCS means low end and off-boost improves, so the powerband is overall broader on the 207.

v8 / 9 is twinscroll and you either use all the JDM stuff or you move EVERYTHING over from your current engine. Header, uppipe, turbo, downpipe, heat shielding + brackets, oil cooler, and intercooler support bracket are all different from single scroll.

someone should take all the info and put it in the first page
-best place to get motors
-what are good things to replace/look over before install
-what is needed for each motor to work

it would kill alot of random questions

It is covered almost once per week, READ!

Or for the more condensed version
http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show....php?t=2385141

I still say the 207 needs its own dedicated sub-forum within the 2.0L Powertrain forum

Question for you guys that are running the CarBerry SD rom - what are you using to meter your intake air temps?

Are you using the IAT sensor built into the MAF? Using the OEM intake manifold temp sensor located below the throttle body? Or an aftermarket IAT sensor scaled and mounted somewhere?

I have the stock air box currently and might go with a cold air intake eventually. I'm trying to determine the best option for metering the intake temps. It seems like a lot of people just use the MAF sensor's IAT reading and that is good enough but being that intake temps are more important with SD, I want to use the best location.

Let me know what you guys think the best option is.

There is already one in the intake manifold, below the throttle body. Should I wire it to the intake temp wires going to the MAF sensor currently? Do you know if it uses the same scaling as the MAF IAT sensor?

Do not use the one that is already in the manifold, it is a closed element sensor so it has really bad response and it heat/cold soaks horribly. I have played with it and the fueling was rarely correct. The GM sensor is nice but needs a big hole in the intake manifold or IC. I chose to go the more elegant route and made mine with an old thermister from a dead MAF and a BSP plug that replaced the PCV valve. It responds as fast as the GM sensor but cost me 0$

Are there any better sensors that could replace the sensor in the manifold or is it just easier to tap the IC? Seems like it would be a pain to swap that sensor.

This one will replace the stock sensor or the PCV valve, i believe both are 1/8 BSP

this is what i did but used a small npt end. silconed one into it and then taped the throttle body at an angle toward the top. got about 3 or 4 good threads and used some sealant. being its right before the iacv hole near the top of the butterfly valve it gets all the air flow during idle and when u crack the throttle the valve tips away from the sensor allowing half the air going thru the tb past the iat sensor.

Last night I was looking through my box-o-stuff and came across my old tmic to throttle body silicon coupler that has my meth nozzle installed in it. Has anyone installed an iat sensor in the hose there like a meth nozzle? Seems like an easy way to get a sensor there without any permanent modification.

Thoughts?

Thank you for the detailed response. I read in a few in a few places the oem manifold mounted sensor was bad but no one could offer up a satisfying explanation as to why this was the case. I'll get the correct type of sensor and go that route.

I am curious though as to why you replaced the PCV valve connection on the manifold. Wouldn't you want to leave that intact to provide a strong vacuum to the crankcase?

So does anyone have a jdm V7/8 ecu they wanna sell? I figured I'd ask in here since this is where most of the 207 guys are, and nobody ever checks the WTB ads.

I think everyone in here is enjoying their swap to sell you one
You're better off contacting the vendors mentioned in this thread.

The PCV only works at negative relative manifold pressure so the only time it is really doing anything is idle and very light cruising to decrease emissions. All other times vacuum is sourced from the turbo inlet so I am fine with my crank being a slightly higher pressure at idle and low throttle cruise as long as I get good vacuum at WOT.

Makes sense. I figured its effect during cruising might have been a little higher but maybe not.

The issue is that I have the TIC tgv deletes which then separate the grounds from the engine to the manifold. I ran a ground from the tower to the manifold and then to the head on that side.
