Default My 4-Month Old ISportLTD TOTALED :(

Driving to work last week 55 MPH road, three deer run into the road blocking my lane, oncoming lane, and part of right shoulder. Hit the brakes, came to complete stop, deer went across.

...then all of a sudden, felt a huge impact and thought what the ... Looked in rear view mirror and saw headlights. I was rear ended. Realized what happened and pulled my vehicle off to the shoulder. Door was hard to get open. Went back to check on the other car a small SUV. Her car was caved in at the front and her Airbag had deployed. When police came we were taken by ambulance, and both later released. I hit my head (didn't even realize it, but officer noticed a bump on forehead), and neck and back were really sore for days. She had received really bad bruising from seat belt, no broken bones.

She was cited as the at fault vehicle. It was somewhat foggy and road was a bit slick. Not sure how fast she hit me, but there weren't any skid marks.

Her insurance is paying, and they sent an adjuster out and said because it is at 50% damage, before even finding anymore mechanical issues or anything hidden that they are just going to Total. Don't know the payout yet.

At any rate, just ordered another today:

(DLL) ISM Sport Limited 5 DOOR
(63) MOONROOF/NAVIGATION
(IYY) (KCD| PCR| MCE| BCA| MCF) POPULAR PACKAGE #1
(DCF) UPGRADED TWEETERS
(DCG) UPGRADED SPEAKERS
(KCE) CENTER CONSOLE TRAY OFF BLACK
(MCA) CARGO NET - REAR SEAT BACK
(MCC) CARGO NET SIDE (SET OF 2)
(PCW) SPLASH GUARD AERO (5D SPORT) ICE SILVER METALLIC
(QCU) ROOF SPOILER 5D ICE SILVER METALLIC
(SCO) STRAKE ICE SILVER METALLIC
(YCF) BODY SIDE MOLDING ICE SILVER METALLIC
(YCN) SPORT MESH GRILLE ICE SILVER METALLIC

??? for some reason, Subaru's Pipeline Ordering would not let him order me the Remote Engine Start again (RCB). Anyone know why?

...but worst part is I now have to wait all over again, as I had ordered the last one in April and received in June. Dealer is indicating it could be a four month wait...

I'm glad to hear everyone is OK. Was your old one a 2012 or a 2013? If it was a 2012 then you are lucking out in the depreciation aspect.

Yeah it was a 2012, barely broke in 7000 on the odometer...

Unfortunately no PICS. Vehicle was towed to dealer, when I was taken to hospital. ...and when I went back to get all my personal effects, I forgot to take camera. She really did well and what she was designed to do. Back part crumpled up and really absorbed the impact. It was creased at several parts of the body (that would have had to be cut out), just behind rear doors. If anyone were sitting in the back seat, they would have been fine. Inside front and rear seat area compartments maintained their integrity. It was mainly just all the back hatch area pushed in. The rear hatch door was really pushed in. Surprisingly glass was not even blown out.

It's why my wife and I love our Subarus. She drives an '11 Outback Limited. We have kids and grandkids, and we want them all safe if they are with us...

glad your alive was in a similiar accident recently, herniated disks and all, you should probably see a chiropractor and have them do some fmri just in case you have injuries that aren't showing up. Also check if your jaw is clicking tmj and all. I got hit at 60mph by a drunk driver, I am currently auditioning to be a crash test dummy. I am about to end my 4 month wait and will be happy to be in my new car.

The sad thing is....the way you got hit had nothing to do with driving ability because you reacted to the deer...and you got butt-fudged in the rear by an idiot....freaking sad as it gets. Just be glad you aren't in pain for the rest of your life.

Default Remote starter

I'm glad to hear that you weren't badly hurt, and I'm sorry to hear your Subie is smooshed.

My dealer told me the remote starter is being redesigned, so it is currently not available for the Imprezas. I keep checking in with them, but there isn't any word yet on when it will be available.

Great color choice BTW!
