The one I was at was a fairly low reading Dynojet. 350whp on the DJ and it came up as 349whp on the Airboy.

My build thread is in the car gallery. I had a fair amount of mods at the time, I'll try to list them for you...

Intake
Turbo inlet
FMIC
TGV deletes
Header
EWG up pipe
Catted downpipe
SPT catback
ID1000 injectors
Fuel pump
3 port EBCS
Lightweight crank pulley

I'm sure I'm forgetting some things.

http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show....php?t=2234499

I've got a lot more going in now:

MPS SSLR built shortblock
PnP'd heads
Cams
Valve springs and retainers
4 port EBCS
AOS
PnP'd stock turbo

And more

After my ACT HD clutch is broke in, I'll show you 350whp on the stock turbo and E85.

That thread says everything. You obviously didn't read it or have the reading comprehension of a donkey.

Edit: Read post 4974 and the following 10 posts or so.

Drew..with all due respect, Even junior did stated in that thread that u can't make 350whp with 15psi unless u have some crazy racing motor ..really not sure why u still wanna debating this...

Eddiesubaru66 he did eventually say he was wrong, keep reading a little more. It would really be nice to see your trap speeds and quarter mile times drew but I understand you don't want to drag the car and I respect. I'm sure it's your baby and needs some tranny work first anyways? lol

Exactly. I just blew a motor, I don't need to blow a tranny too.

For what it's worth, I wouldn't recommend going over 325whp or so on stock internals. Bad juju.

How its possible is you get one hell of a tuner mixed with an amazing combo of mods, and topped off with a freak motor/turbo from the factory. Seriously, nobody believed it until it was all done. There was a 400whp boost spike on the dyno on the first run that we didn't think anything of until it was finished...I know 400whp is possible on the VF52, it just takes the right mix.

The cams, porting, and 4 port should help me out to get closer.

I'm starting to believe it I just got 303whp at 18.5psi on a vd set up to read like a low mustang and I have very minimal mods! Good tuner is important!

Not too far now. I'm fairly certain I'll be getting tuned at The Boost Creep LTD. I'm going to try to do that on the way to the big AWD meet in Aurora.

I must have the comprehension of a donkey then. As for comprehension, THIS THREAD was about daily-driver reliability at 350 whp. You graciously provided the exact recipe for how not to do that. Spend a bunch of cash on every possible bolt-on, jack the tune up with E85 on the stock turbo and blow your motor.

This donkey is still driving the car that was built and tuned by Cobb, and puts out 350 whp on Cobb's dyno, gets decent mileage, and still starts every morning.

There was a thread a month or 2 back about stock-turbo 1/4 mile records, your post might have been relevant there. Here, not so much.

I got my 350whp daily driver on 93 like this:
  • FP HTA Green Turbo, 1100cc injectors
  • Process West top mount intercooler
  • TGV deletes
  • top feed conversion
  • fuel pressure regulator
  • 300lph fuel pump
  • turboxs catless downpipe
  • high flow midpipe
  • OEM STi catback
  • aftermarket EWG uppipe
  • 73mm KStech intake
  • Perrin 3" turbo inlet
  • Perrin fuel rails
  • Grimmspeed EBCS
  • 38mm tial wastegate venting to atmosphere
  • Cobb AP
  • stock engine internals.
  • Grimmspeed Pulley

http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show....php?t=2421905

With e85 you could do it on the stock turbo no problem. I've driven 2000+ incident free miles on this so far. Is this the best way? Who knows. But so far its been a pretty damn fun way.

But I have a few scenarios that I can take to get to 350whp and I want input from everyone and their experiences. The only reason I'm really debating is because I am not removing the stock crash bar for a front mount (Looking into the racerx fmic). Anyway these are what I've come up so far as solutions to get my end goal. Also I'm in the military so I move around a lot so I'm looking for a said and done setup. Also I don't want to upgrade the engine block or the transmission so that's why I'm staying conservative at 350whp. The car will not be launched, drag raced, or road raced. It's my daily and I plan to keep it that way. I just like a fun car with an occasional WOT pull.
I made 350whp with a turbo upgrade...
Tomoika Racing TD05 20g
DW 850cc injectors
Walbro 255 Fuel Pump
Invidia Catless DP
HKS Hi-Power CBE
APS 70mm Intake
AVO Inlet

If you're trying to keep cost down and not do a lot of upgrades and on top of what you already plan to install " Next year I will be installing:
Cobb EBCS
DW65c Fuel Pump
Grimmspeed AOS"
I would get the Grimmspeed PnP exhaust manifold + crossover pipe, the lightweight crank pulley, a STi TMIC, and STi injectors.
You can do the install of all this in a day or over a weekend. Plus, if you email a copy of the front of your military ID, you'll have 10% Grimmspeed products.

This us what I'm shooting for on my 06 sti with stock 39. I really don't think 350 will be possible but I wanna see how close I can get. Right now all I have left for bolt ons us headers, ewg and tgv. Besides that I got just bout every power bolt on I can think of and I'm at 300 hp and 325 tq at 19 psi on cobb in Portlands Mustang dyno. Really I just wanna get a good tq number hp us great but tq us more fun in my opinion.

You can get 340+ out of a vf39. I've seen it...

Partial quote, but it hits the point. At 350whp the odds of your blowing your motor and tranny are significant, so much so that you'd better be putting money aside for either or both.

Ask me how I know.

Salient point Dave D. I was told by my tuner and by plenty of other folks wiser than me that if you go with a bigger turbo with stock internals you're dealing with a "when it breaks, not if it breaks" situation.

So there's that.

On pump gas? But ya besides an bigger intercooler I don't see me gaining fifty hp with headers and ewg. I'm staying away from front mount and sticking with the stock sti one. The cost for a larger tmic us not nearly worth the gain on stock turbo

The problem with 350WHP is the fact it is well over 400CHP. That means more than 100 bhp per cylinder... 624.75cc cylinders. That is the range of current state-of-the-art motorcycles, at 12-13,000rpm... with under 400 pounds to haul around. This from pump gasolines. Really...

Go ahead. Make 350WHP and drive it daily. Just be prepared to update when you, like drewvdw and a host of others, start a new thread about your built motor. Or burning oil. Or cracked ringland.

It isn't that one can't do it, plenty do. Some last a faily long time if they treat it right. But if anyone thinks they can do that on a stock motor without facing a motor rebuild they're kidding themselves.

If the tune weren't enough, and the limits of a stock block as we know them not enough... try this conversation:http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show....php?t=2424282
