I'm turning blue, Mike haha. And yeah, those brakes are sick too. Probably 5 times as expensive when you need new rotors and pads too.

In other news, someone on another board is supposedly taking delivery of his DGM '13 hatch this weekend. He was one of those guys who ordered in June for a 2012, but then they bumped him out to a 2013. We'll see if it actually happens though. He could be one of the first. Could be good news for a couple of the guys in this thread that were in his situation.

I would imagine that the 2013's are just now hitting the shores of the USA, with dealers on the coasts getting them 5-10 days from now.

Our first 2 2013s hit the shore on the 22nd and are scheduled to get here around the 18th of September.

I would assume that these specific cars would have been in production before the 8/15 order date, so anyone with a special order will still be waiting a while. Correct? Or does this info mean that we can expect to see orders on the coats being fulfilled in 2ish weeks?

What is a partial VIN? And I'm guessing your '13 is a matched dealer allocation? Geez... next week

Subaru used the first allocation of 2013s to fill the orders for those who were still waiting for the 2012s that never arrived. Any extras after filling those remaining orders were given to dealers for our stock inventory before the 15th even opened.

All orders for 2013s will be part of the next allocation which will be announced in the first couple weeks of September.

People who put in orders on the 15th should be getting VIN#s in mid-late September and start recieving the cars in October or early November depending on where they are in the country, and whether they got Navi.

If you get one earlier it is because Subaru was able to match your request up with one that was already on its way.

Do they tend to make the navi ones earlier or later than the non-nav?

Navi cars took longer to arrive on all my 2012 orders. WRX/STi and even normal Impreza/Foresters.

It is a supplier issue is what I am told.

Do you have any idea when the cutoff date might be to get an order in the next allocation?

The last 8 digits of the vin, and not sure. All I know is it's a factory order that just got off the boat! =)

Typically the end of this month will be the cut off for cars to fill for the "October" allocation. Keep in mind that being part of the "October" allocation does not mean the car physically gets to you by October, rather that the order should*** be filled in October.

Mike

Thanks Mike. I really want to place an order, but I'm holding out for the dealer to get one in for me to test drive. I called today and the rep said that many they were expecting to get have already been spoken for and sold, but there are still a few they may get on the lot.

What would happen if I placed an order sooner rather than later, and after I took a test drive decided to cancel? Would they definitely not refund my deposit? I just hate delaying my potential delivery date when I'm 80% sure I will love the car at the moment.

Check your dealers site. Inventory should be updated as I see alot of 2013's already listed in transit.

Wait..so the 13s are hitting the lot soon and no one knows what is different about them from the 2012? Doesn't make sense.

$28.5K plus a pretty competitive trade in for a Forester XT

So, I know that this is just a bit different from some of the other order figures that you are seeing but I will at least share my experience. First of all, I hear the slimy owner of Subaru of New England finagles $500 out of EVERY Subaru sale so that comes out of the pocket of the buyer, hence larger invoice from what I can see (can anyone else validate this?). So, I was printed out the invoice sheet and the car is $27,7xx. With accessories it was about $28,250. I basically got the car for $250 over invoice with a very competitive trade in for my car - which makes that number almost seem lower.

So I am kind of wondering what others in New England are hearing. This was the second dealer I went to today and when I threw a figure of invoice at the first dealer (Somerset Subaru) they said I "Wasn't even in the same ballpark". They quoted me at $29,050K and the manager was being "nice" because I bought from them before. And they essentially were gonna give me a bag of balls for my trade in. They lived on the point that only 13 WRX's are going to New England and it did not even make sense for them to drop the car below MSRP. Again, two totally different experiences and stories with two different dealers about 25 miles apart from each other (it pays to do some shopping).

So I do not think a deal like what Mike was offering can be realized anywhere near New England from what I can see. Unless someone can tell me otherwise and kick me off my high horse. I thought I negotiated pretty well and was able to only get $250 over invoice. Maybe in other part of the country these cars can be had for a bit cheaper?

4-6 week estimated delivery; was told possible sooner. The wait is gonna absolutely kill me but it will be worth it!
I ordered my 2013 from patrick subaru in shrewsbury last weekend. $25,959......i demanded $1000 off msrp up front which they obliged. Then i had them throw in the last 3 options for nothing.

Base wrx with:
Fog lights
Rear cargo tray
Rear bumper guard
Center console extension

I was told 6-8 weeks before it will ge in. In the meantine i continue to drive my trade in, a 2010 mazda3.

I think i got a fair deal

You guys think it's unreasonable to ask for $1K off of invoice? (sti 5dr)

You probably could've gotten away with it before the allocation memo went out, but it seems like its all tightened up now. Can't hurt to ask though.

Depends totally on who you're dealing with.

I got invoice and was pleased.
