I don't have the exact dimensions but don't buy just a regular T-connector. The part that the defi underhood unit plugs into has a smaller hole than the others.

Hi All,

as promised, here's the wiring for my uego and boost gauge:

Close up of BPV T Connector

BPV T connector - made sure there's no kinks - did not need to cut OE BPV tube. Also loosly zip tied it to another hose

UEGO connector with adapter. I added wire tubing over the wires

From these pics it looks like my intercooler is shot .. must be angle of the camera

i did both for the most part. i was too lazy to heat shrink... so i soldered and crimped for the boost gauge. eventually, i'll crack them back open and re-solder and heat shrink them.

I like the fuse tap idea. Trying to install defi control unit right now. If i follow what you did adding the fuse tap and just connect them to the fuse box, would it work? How about the ground?

Also i see on my Stock fuse box there is a fuse cap/ tap on some of the slots that i need. Is it fine to remove these or is it being used to power something? Electrical noob here.
Thanks

You need to also have the ground wire attached to a bare metal piece somewhere under the dash. Otherwise bad things will happen. Make sure you hook up the ground wire.

Constant 12v - Fuse # 3 - DOOR LOCK
Switched 12v - Fuse # 26 - IG2
Illumination/Dimmer - Fuse # 16 - ILLUMINATION

So the defi orange wire gets fuse #3. White #16 Red gets #26 and black is ground?

For gauges just needing power (no illum), I would suggest buying a fuse tap and tap it into the radio's tap... and use a 5amp fuse for the gauges (it's not recommended to go >10amp).

Afterwards, ground can be tapped to the metal plate on the fusebox. Works really well and powers on/off with ignition.

Just picked up a Defi Oil Pressure gauge. One question, is there any advantage to choosing the galley plug under the alternator as opposed to the one under the TMIC? I think removing the TMIC and installing there would make for a cleaner look.

The one under the alternator is the OEM oil pressure sender. The one under the Intercooler is just a blank. I did have quite a bit of trouble with the one under the Intercooler and ended up rounding the hex off, forcing me to use the one under the alternator, however there's plenty of wiring looms that run right to there to hide your gauge wiring. The alternator comes off easily also.

this ^ -the consensus i read was the location under the alternator is more accurate... no need for the idiot light as you have a real time reading.

do you have a plastic trim removal tool or two? i used those.

otherwise, yank the **** out of it.

*assuming you don't want to damage your OEM cowl. i could sell you mine if you do.

ETA: they look like this. various flavors.... Pep Boys, Auto Zone, Cruchfield

Yes, the dash is a bitch to get out... but you also have to man up and yank it pretty hard, if you know what I mean. Ha!

Nice work and well write-up...

I'm trying to sort out my '09 STi the same way; but my 09 STi has the OEM Subaru STP Boost Gauge already installed and was wondering if I can use the OEM Subaru STP Boost Gauge wiring already in place and just switch out the gauge with Defi racer boost gauge. Thanks
