Scooby Sport
The ScoobySport Exhaust system removes how many catalytic convertors? I know the M2 exhaust removes 1 cat but replaces another with a High Flow cat. All i need is 1 cat. to pass inspection and i LOVE the sound of the S.S. exhaust. Anybody have any suggestions?
Thanks Geof (Newbie)

Hmmm, I don't know how many cats are in an 2.5RS exhaust. Sorry.

I think it replaces 2 of the 3 cats - on the WRX at least....But there is a decent chance that I am wrong.

Scoobysport
Well, if you buy the turbo back Scoobysport system there are no cats behind the turbo at all. However, Scoobysport equipment bolts to the factory stuff so you can "a la carte" your system if you want and leave in one cat for emissions purposes. People in the UK do this all the time and still seem to be happy with the performance.

Well, you can get the Prodrive backbox, a straight through resonator eliminator and a Scoobysport downpipe leaving only the stock cat in the middle. I think the Prodrive is 2.5 inches in diameter and mates right up to the stock fixtures. Plus, I have heard that the Prodrive muffler sounds AWESOME - raspy and low but not too loud. Plus, the oval tip looks great under the back of the WRX.
This combination will let you do what you want to do and should not give a check engine light. JaMa Last edited by JaMa; 09-17-2001 at 10:19 PM. |

JaMa - sorry, but I need to bother you with another question. The Scoobysport consists of 4 parts: downpipe, front mid section, rear mid section, and muffler...correct? I want to keep my stock 3rd cat, but replace everthing else with SS. Which components of the Scoobysport system will I need to achieve this? Also, is it possible to keep the 2nd cat as well, or does that get eliminated with the downpipe?
Thanks again, Paul |

Does anyone have any recommendations on vendors for SS exhausts? I sent Rally Performance an email yesterday morning and tried to call them all day, but haven't heard back from them. Is this normal? Other suggestions?
