This better not be one of you guys
https://www.facebook.com/jennifer.th...6346874287313/
Saw this on my facebook newsfeed. This is just ridiculous, and as a dog owner myself, I would've done much more than stand around and let him talk **** to me.

Death to him, they should've locked him in the car for "5 minutes" with the Windows "cracked" and see if it "fu*king matters" then.

Didn't someone do an online video test of this by locking themselves in a car with a camera recording and a digital thermometer keeping track of temps? How do people think this is alright to do to any living creature?

Everyone in that video was layered up with long sleeves and jackets.
How hot was it in reality? |

It was actually somewhat warm here yesterday, despite what they were wearing.

5 minutes in a car in 75f Temps with the windows cracked will not put a living creature into distress. It's unlikely a human would even break a sweat. |

Direct sunlight through a window is hot. If the car was in the shade and the windows were cracked. I wouldn't argue. Clearly the girls saw the dog was in some what of distress.
75F ambient temp's aren't very hot. But a dog has a full coat of fur, its going to be a bit warmer to the dog. Are we done trolling yet? |

People like the those in this video are prime examples of the extreme overreactions and total insanity that the younger generation is plagued with. |

Here's a chart I just googled because I actually read that even if it's 75F a vehicle can still warm up inside.. grain of salt as usual.
https://www.avma.org/public/PetCare/...-vehicles.aspx Elapsed time Outside Air Temperature (F) 70 75 80 85 90 95 0 minutes 70 75 80 85 90 95 10 minutes 89 94 99 104 109 114 20 minutes 99 104 109 114 119 124 30 minutes 104 109 114 119 124 129 40 minutes 108 113 118 123 128 133 50 minutes 111 116 121 126 131 136 60 minutes 113 118 123 128 133 138 > 1 hour 115 120 125 130 135 140 Courtesy Jan Null, CCM; Department of Geosciences, San Francisco State University I will agree with your sentiments re: younger generation however if the owner was in fact standing in front of his vehicle the entire time while they were panicking and not responding....... |

Those numbers are for a car with the windows closed.
This guy had all four windows down a couple inches. I bet the dog was panting and sniffing at the window because he couldn't wait for yellow jacket to get back with the tasty sandwich. For the record, I think it was those bat**** crazy crusading girls that overreacted. I think the guy went easy on them considering they burglarized his vehicle. |

Don't forget that dogs can only pant to cope with overheating, and it is nowhere nearly as effective as sweating (dogs can't sweat). Add a coat of fur / hair, include the fact that this breed of dog that is more prone to breathing / respiratory problems, and we've got a problem here.

I have a Frenchie (NO I AM NOT THIS DOUCHE)...Frenchie's are VERY prone to heating as their snouts are shorter and they are not as efficient at dropping heat. I would never leave my dog in the car if the outside temp was over 24-25 and sun was out I would absolutely not leave my dog in the car period. This infuriates me.
