nice right up on the iwsti forum, really like the part about your mom taking the car to get a new long block. if you still plan on doing a rotated i/m let me know i want to see who you are going to do it with the rotated 3076. I rotated my i/m but still went with stock location on the vf37, i think i will upgrade later and do a rotated turbo just to work some other things out.

You had to flip your fmic core around right? So as to have the i/c piping the same diameters respectively to the cores sides right? Instead of hot (right side) and cold (left side). Since I already have the Full Race kit, I asked FR how much for the reversed i/m piping...$1,000! So I've thought about having someone local do it when the time comes. I'd REALLY like to learn how to weld so I can practice and do it myself. Though I am a big fan of mandrel bent pipes as opposed to cut/weld.

As for my mom doing the block...it was a surprise and I'll take it I still build the car but definitely wouldn't have it built as fast as it has been without her. Now she's scared to ride in it with me lol

I did all the stuff for the rotated i/m but let the guys at DC auto do the front mount. Not sure how it has come out as the car is still at their shop. I feel you on the mandrel pipe, but i think they went with the cut/weld approach. which is fine by me for now. i probably wont go a rotated turbo until back in the states so ill mess with bending pipes then. btw i went with the wife hates me option(deleted a/c) and rotated the alternator to the a/c comp location.

hey Tim. I'll school you in the art of welding if you want some time. I used to weld quite a bit. just let me know what you want to learn. and I'll take your moms lap on the ring with your car if she won't.

I bet you'd love that! lol Lets do a follow along I'll slow up for ya :P I know NOTHING about welding except that I want to learn lol TIG, MIG...heard of them but forgot what each was. If you told me on here, I'll forget again. I'm a hands on learner.

^^Ya, I'm keeping the a/c. I'd get some spacers for the tgv's so the tb would clear the a/c. My wife is from TX so we plan to go back and ya...I need a/c in TX. Idk if I'd shoot the i/c pipe off the turbo straight up and back to the fender or go under the i/m. Probly under so it looks even coming off the tb. I like things to look even or it starts to look goofy to me. That's why I want a shaved bay. I've done a bit of research on it, but finding time to do something on that level, first time? The car would be down for a while. First thing would be to move the fuse box to fender then relocate battery to trunk. But those are only thoughts at this point. I'd work on brake ducting before those.

well I'll suppose I'd let your car cruise with mine! lol. well I think that the auto skills center has both mig and tig weldera so we could go over there and I could show you the basics one day. mig is super easy. tig takes a bit more skill but you'd probably pick it up quick. tig is nice cause you can do small detailed projects on pretty much any type of metal. mig is more production based IMO

Im not 100% sure how the DC guys ran the piping but my lay out was come off turbo behind i/m 90 degree down the drivers side, down the side of engine and rest of path into the i/c, then out the i/c up the pass side, up front of the engine and into the tb. still alot of piping. i want to rotate turbo so intake can be placed off the side next to fender, run the hot side out to the left (pass side) of i/m down to the i/c and then the cold side coming out and up to the tb. so next couple years i might play with it.

Well it's about that time to put your winter mods to the test people! Looks like Saturday, April 6th they're running tourist rides from 0800-1900. There's also an all day one on the 30th of March but that one will be cutting it close for me. Who's down for the 6th?

1. Me
2. 11' white STI from Graf / SFC Killlea
3.
4.
5.
6.

As a Plan B if the weather is nasty, Sunday, April 21st is the same tourist rides all day. I have an app that shows the beginning toll gate on the Ring and there is snow there right now.

The ring is supposed to be opening today but looks like it's delayed for weather. Hopefully it clears up by the 6th. If it does, count me in for the trip there. Either the WRX or M3. Just put on some RE-11's on the WRX and want to really try them out.
