To the OP since it doesnt sound like your having the creep issue(boost keeps going up) and your only spiking then maybe a tune specific to your car will help you out IE a protune. Personally I would try the airbox fix just too see what happens. If your going protune might as well add a pile of parts to maximize the gains and cost you will see with a protune. Best of luck to ya

Downshift....
There is no reason to be going WOT in 4th or 5th from a low RPM. |

I would just find a stock intake man...I found a whole setup on here for $50 shipped. Fixed my issues!

I'm on my phone so I can't see OP profile but I'm assuming by the username we're talking about a 13 wrx. Just curious how much you paid for a brand new car with no warranty? You don't have to answer that.
On topic though, have you had cel come on or hit fuel cut during your overboost? Do you have the stock air box? |

Take it the dealership then I'm sure they'll fix it. Why not use that warranty you don't have. Sorry to sidetrack your thread I don't mean to be an ass. FWIW, I have an 09 wrx with catless Invidia TBE, stock intake and I have the same problem. I think I remember reading somewhere on here that Eric from TP had boost creep issues with Invidia DPs. I don't remember any of the details though.

OP is concerned with OVERBOOSTING, which is NOT the same as boost creep. Unless OP is experiencing boost creep (highly unlikely) and is mistaking it for overboosting. we need clarification. |

The best way to "solve" this problem, call Cobb SoCal and take your car to them.

The issue with this whole thread is the OP is data logging wrong, and doing his pulls in the wrong gear. So, the little information that is provided is worthless. It's comical, the OP has a basic stage 2 set up, and we got guys telling him to bolt on an EWG because he is 1-2 psi overboosting. I guess the bottom line here is if the OP cannot even datalog his car correctly, then he should take Hinshaw's advice and take it to Cobb. |

The AEM doesnt have one because its a cold air intake and the piping routes the filter into your fender. |

get an ebcs and a tune. enjoy the extra power and be more reliable.. I'd recommend going stage 2 at least to get your moneys worth out of the tune

They both perform similarly .. the AEM just sits further away. Not sure why your even still bringing this up, weren't you overboosting with an intake? If the Cobb overboosted on your car, then the AEM will likely also overboost. Just stick with the stock box. |

A 3 port EBCS, and protune would do the trick. The only question becomes whether having that airbox sucking sound is worth about $650 extra dollars to you or not. I have the Cobb SF with box,and it has worked fine for me, but if I had your issues I would pull it off in a second and return to the stock box. Heck, I often consider returning to the stock box anyways ... the noisy intake is getting annoying. |

It's not so much the noise it's the pull it gives that scond and third they pull harder than the average stage 2
