Default E85 petition to be smog exempt!

There is a whitehouse petition to make e85 Converted cars exempt from smog checks. Even though since I register in fl and I don't have to do smog checks anyway I thought I would share with the rest of you here.

https://wwws.whitehouse.gov/petition...tF#thank-you=p

All you need to do is make an account and press sign. If nothing else this will help show there is a demand for more e85 and people willing to "selflessly" change their cars over to "help the environment" lol.

So do people just make these for everything they can imagine now? I think I will make one that makes it ride unicorns on public roads.

I don't get it. All of the OBD2 cars dont even get sniffed. So this wouldn't really apply to them.

And what's even funnier is how the feds have nothing to do with smog checks anyways...

Sure the EPA sets the standards and all that crap, but it is up to the states to do the actual testing.

this would be a good thing to support regardless of whether you have to deal with the emissions yourself, showing support for alternative fuels is a positive move. increasing support for e85 right now when govt support of alternative fuels researching is slowing down will help all the more.

i'm not saying i expect it to pass but creating some noise will help keep alternative fuels on peoples minds.

what's the big deal either way? My car passes just fine. Are we trying to just not have the inconvenience of taking the actual test?

This is silly.

Most cars capable of being converted don't need to be smog exempt. They will still pass just fine.

This is just an excuse for people to try and get away with shenanigans.
