I'm beginning to wonder if SOA has abandoned the SOA Blog account. It's been well over a month:

There are month plus gaps in their posting history. We're obviously not a priority, but it's nice to get what information we do get. I predict that they will be back as time allows.

Wow..I was coming in here to ask if the Subaru XV is going to be at the Chicago Auto show but if they don't visit then I guess I'm wasting time typing.

SOA_Blog,
Has SOA mulled over using the BRZ for track schools or perhaps offering a manufacturer backed high performance driving school? From everything I read about the car, seems like this would be a great starter vehicle for anyone looking to get into the sport. |

Will the BRZ be in Chicago at least? When is it going on sale (It feels like a spring day today)?

Thanks, SOA_Blog, for throwing us the bone to at least confirm that is the official unveiling! I may even come in from Philly to see it.... |

I do hope that it comes out in the older release windows on June/July like almost all non-2012 Imprezas have. My 2006 Tribeca is starting to shows its age and is in the shop far too often these days... |

Historically speaking, the DC auto show is lame when it comes to product announcements and prototype displays, so if we had a BRZ my hunch is that Chicago will get it to see it too unless there is a logistical problem preventing the car from being shown there. |

Hey SOA Blog, I personally would like to urge dumping the "XV" from the name to make it just "Crosstrek" or you are basically repeating the "B9 Tribeca" naming clunkiness debacle.

SOA Blog,
There is a rumor that there will only be 1200 BRZs in the US total for the first year. Just give us a yes or no please. |

SOA blog,
Mostly because it's hard to follow the very long Impreza 12' thread, here is a summary of what some owners are facing. This is for the benefit of SOA blog and for future customers. Problems that should be fixed: * Passenger's seat sensor, which controls airbag deployment. Some speculation that certain electronics, such as an iPad, may disable it, but even on it's own. * Excess water in the doors, after the car has been in the rain. Too much water get in and some complained also about draining. * Excess moisture in the headlights. * Cranking sometimes takes 5~7 seconds before the car starts. Some folks had their batteries replaced, not sure if it solved the problem. * Visibly crooked/unaligned assembly / parts: visor, cargo cover, near key hole. Other concerns: * Many folks don't seem to get the 27MPG city and 36MPG (with CVT) seem unattainable, even for folks trying to hyper-mile. Many people get 28MPG, but their driving mixture should probably get them more. Some folks got as low as low 20's. It could be this is because of winter fuel mixture + break-in period. * Shifting from R to D requires ~2 sec waiting for the CVT transmission or else you'd get a lurch. * Radio sound quality is poor, even on >= Premium models, though people seem to be happy with USB/Bluetooth sound. * People are unhappy with engine turning off after remote start + opening the door. SOA blog, what steps are you going to take to get these issue be resolved for current and future owners? |
