Omg, I'll pay you to bring some if you decide to move!

I toured the Carlton plant on the Gold Coast and it came with free beer vouchers at the end. We had 5 beer in an hour, it was sweeet! The one that came out during the Queen's anniversary was crappy.

Are you in the NSW Impreza club??

you can't get EVO, but you can get STi in US though. in fact it will be cheaper too.

That's exactally what it means . There's some (apparently) simple paperwork you'll have to do to import the car from U.S. to Canada, as well as certain modifications (i.e. daytime running lights) to meet the Canadian requirements if needed.

Car prices tends to be a bit cheaper in the U.S. than Canada. Not that it's a concern if you're planning on a STi or something newish, but it's not a bad idea to get a car from one of the southern states to avoid rust in older cars.

We're software but we do proprietary hardware too, and all of the projects we do need to run on some sort of network/hardware inhouse and onsite. Pay isn't as bling as other places but it's ok.

Right now we're in the hunt of ~40 software engineers, so if any of you are interested, contact me.

Sorry to say but IT is pretty saturated here in Vancouver.

You'll love the summertime and everything else Vancouver has to offer tho.

Just remember we drive on the right side of the road here, and you will be good to go.
When do you arrive? Have fun in Vancouver, it's a great city. The girls will like you, and the accent, so enjoy! And we got a very knowledgable and great group of guys here, so any questions, ask away. Your name isn't Paul Hogan is it? You know, Crocodile Dundee? Just kidding.
You basically have 4 local Dealerships to choose from for buying a Subaru here.
Specialty in North Van (they support rally)
Don Docksteader Vancouver (I got my car here)
Wolfe Subaru in Langley
Richmond Subaru

and yes, I put them in that order for a reason.

If you really have the spare cash, there are ways to get a USDM EVO into Canada. However, I must warn you that if you thinking it will be like the Asian/Aussie/JDM EVO you WILL be GREATLY DISAPPOINTED. It is 2 very different cars. I have sat in a USDM EVO and last month was in Asia and tried a FQ320... It is a WORLD of a difference.

- If I chose to purchase a used car; are there checks I can do before purchasing?

Be careful of buying used STi... Esp when they are suprisingly cheap. A friend recently bought an 04 for like 34Gs++. It looked ok and those car checks like Carfax seem to come out clean, but it has be modded like crazy then put back to stock and somehow the car feels wonky when I drove it. Not to mention how hard the previous owner must have driven it to squeeze every cent of value out of it. IMHO for cars that are designed to be driven HARD (STi, EVO, S2000, 350Z etc...) it is better to buy new..

you will save at least 10G if you buy an STi from US.
which is about used car price for a brand new car.
