1) well we don't know what kind of dyno it was
2) we don't know what stock sti's dyno on it
3) stock STis put down about 240 whp/tq so these are pretty normal but maybe tq is a little low

Isn't STIs rated at 300hp to the crank? If so how much is taken away threw the drivetrain...roughly? About 20% is what i herd, could be wrong.

93oct. I have an evo, not 1000whp tho. (My goal!) Pretty sure stock sti makes near 235whp...? So he would have like 40 over stock...Not sure how that compares to others...?

A stock STi makes about 210/215 whp on a Mustang Dyno/Dyno Dynamics for all those who posted otherwise or asked earlier in this thread...

About right a tad low on torque . If he is not using 93 octane then even the TQ is good. Sound like he got a nice tune for his mods. Get it to a track and see what it traps.

Trap speeds will be the best judge of all. That 276 may kick the crap out of some that put down 320.

Very true, but I for one think he should get a trap speed so we could have something concrete to critique. If this guy is 108 or under, its week. If he's 110+, its solid (granted 93 in being used).

We only have 1/8th mile where we live...I drove it n ran 8.1 @ 85mph... I dont know how to do the math to see what that would be in the 1/4... Sound decent...?

Hmm. Sounds like it could be a high 108-109 trapping car. Typically in my 07 with just and exhaust and boost controller i go 7.9 to the 1/8 on pump and 7.6 on race, but my car is rather aggressivly tuned.

So yeah, a good tune with room for more i would say.

It's kind of difficult to judge by the trap speed or 1/4 mile time etc, because that is mainly based on a driver's ability to put the power down efficiently and at the correct time. Stock STi is rated at 13.0-13.2 1/4 mile ("professional" driver with high RPM launches) and I have been to a track and havent seen anyone do better than 13.6 the few times I have gone (I personally dont like 1/4 and dont like to launch the car).

Anyway, that said, looks like pretty solid numbers to me considering a DynoMite dyno reads as low as a mustang dyno (some cases as high as 12% less than a dynojet), considering the mods mentioned.

That all applies to ET,reaction time, 60ft . Trap speed between the pro and rookie will be pretty close. By then that stuff is all over and the car will accelerate to what it's whp dictates. Unless the clutch let's go, the driver lifts or misses the 4-5 shift in the case of an Sti trap speed will not vary by much. For instance if you have Ali Afshar launch the car against say a 16 year old rookie driver the top speed of the car will not change will it ? That is dependent on the cars whp and aero. Same thing applies here.

Trap speed is by far a greater indicator of the power a car is making than a dyno.

There's no exact answer, but 25% is a good round-about figure.
