Default Single tip or twin tip?

Which is louder? I just put on the Stromung single tip and its far too quiet for my likings, it sounds just like my GReddy. Would it be louder if I went to a twin tip or should I move to something like a Tanabe Racing Medallion?

If you wanted loud you should not have gotten a Stromung. Most people that get Stromungs are looking for optimal power without obnoxious sound.

Tanabe, Apexi, custom, etc. are all routes you can go that will make your exhaust much louder.

I had the dual tip stromung and now the Tanabe RM. I'd say the stromung sounded very nice expecially after it has a couple hundred miles on it. NO complaints with the Stromung, i'd get it again (do a search but i think the single and dual should sound nearly the same). The Tanabe is a bit louder. Get borla headers if you havent got them already. That's a cheap way to make ur car louder. I hear removing the cat does as well

i agree about the stromung being too quiet. at first, i thought it was a little loud but i think that was because ive never driven a car that i could actually hear running. anywho, that exhaust is defintely too quiet, but i plan to add a header soon.

Well I am an offroad racer/rally racer so all I like is loud stuff. I have the Borla headers and I am getting a gutted cat so I am hoping that it will get louder.

Also, does wrapping make it louder or quieter?

Don't gut the cat. Get a proper pipe to replace it. Due to the rapid change indiameter from the pipe to the cat diameter, and back to tpipe diameter it is possible to start a standing wave at some RPMs that will cause a stumble.

Its also possible that the energy lost in the cat is less than the energy lost while decelerating and being forced to accelerate again, netting you zero gains for your effert.

After setting next to a friend yesterday that has the Stromung 2 tip, I can say that it is quite a bit louder than my Apexi N1... both are full cat backs...

The Apexi and Greddy (andp probably more) have a resonator in them... so they are quieter than some would think.

If you want REALLY DAMN LOUD:

1. buy a WRX exhaust.
2. Have a muffler shop cut out the resonator and replace it with pipe when they modify the cat-to-midpipe flange to fit your car.
3. Chop off the muffler.
4. Weld on a Borla XR1 racing muffler.
5. Enjoy setting off every car alarm for a mile around you.

The WRX exhaust is 2.25" in diameter which is perfect for the RS. I had an XR1 with 2.5" pipe at one point... I had it for 4 days.... way too damn loud for me... made the trunk floor act as a subwoofer and compressed the air in the cabin... but it did sound damn nice
