TD04 19T Upgrade Discussion
My stocker is on the fritz and I am thinking of picking up a new/used one and going this route:
http://www.blouchturbo.com/turbos/WR...essor_Upgrade/ Has anyone had and experience with this? Trying to do some research and the good ole search button isnt helping much. If it helps, current power mods: STi TMIC SPT Intake Flying Performance BCS TurboXS Catless TBE Grimmspeed uppipe with Tial 38mm EWG Note- I will get retuned (even if I just get a OEM replacement)

If you're not going to get a re-tune for it, stick with an OEM TD04.

Ok, as long as you've got that covered you should be good. I don't have any personal experience with that turbo, but it would be a cool experiment! Good luck.

hey i have really been looking into this, i talked to a guy and bought a turbo that i thought was a 19t wheel , ended up being a 16g wheel but what i found out, it that the TD04 wheel is to small, and you loose power over the whole power band, a better set up would be basicly what i have, its a TD04 exhaust housing bored to fit a TD04HL wheel, which is basicly a TD05, and then sticking the 19t or a 16g wheel on there , i believe the 19t is a 31lbs/hr wheel and the 16g is a 32.5lbs/hr wheel, with the 16g and TD04HL wheel i hit full boost by 2650, and at 12psi, im pushing more power that with the stock at 20psi, if you want, you can pm me and i can send you some of the links, and alot of the info i have found. forced performace sells the exhaust wheel for 237.50 , its the only place i could find it, but either way it will be a nice set up that has lots of power and the amount of spool up time of a reg TD04
also i will have a stock TD04 with like no play in it, in about a week and a half or so, and im in the houston area |

Thought I would bump this tread back up with my results of the Blouch TD04-19T on my 05 WRX. This thread was helpful awhile back and it felt appropriate to add some info...
Mod List Stock 2.0l TD04-19T ported and clipped Ver 8 JDM TMIC Stock air box with Subaru AA080 filter GM EBCS APS turbo inlet Pink Injectors STi up-pipe Stock mid-pipe to Prodrive Axle back with a Invidia down-pipe This graph was not the finished product, the final graph is alot smother... but it shows the difference between my stage 2 setup over the TD04-19t aftermath. spools fast as hell on the street I'm seeing 19-20psi at 2700rpm and ended up with 277hp and 277ft-lbs and here's the difference between a VF39 (dotted line) and the Blouch TD04-19t (Solid line) VF-39 WRX Stock 2.0l VF-39 e-bay TMIC APS 65mm cold air Pink Injectors catless up-pipe full 3" turbo back I like to see how this turbo blows the socks off the VF-39 even with the stock air box and basically a stock cat back Steve Last edited by Surfer Steve; 07-28-2009 at 10:18 PM. Wow. That is so nice to see. I have putting off the turbo upgrade for a while and think I might pull the plug on this. That is actually a lttle more power than I want but great spool characteristics!. Thanks for posting this up.

The 19T is overlooked by many 2.0L customers that upgrade to a VF

Wow this is awesome! almost 280 whp on a TDO4. That is great! And full boost at 2700 rpms. Man screw the VF series i mean they are great turbos, dont get me wrong, but you cant get a VF series with that kind of spool and you make the same amount of power! and for 325 bucks, that is a lot of bang for your buck.

are pinks required for this? what were the duty cycles? great info. nice power. I love my 2.0 80k in and it runs strong. didn't want to upgrade turbos but this makes me want.
