Just sold my wrb 05 wrx and now im picking up a red 06 that looks just like this!! Idk why they never made a red sti in the GD's cuz damn!! Anyways love your car... any plans on doing some wheels?[/quote]

Always looking for something to do, wheels are a possibility.....I'd like to stay with stock Suby wheels....maybe some new Sti wheels. But I also want to go lower.

As soon as you get yours make sure to post a pic...I have never seen another SSR wrx Hawkeye in Washington.....pretty rare color.

I love it! Looks really good with tint all around too, I wish I could legally do that here.

Here's a few images I took with my phone and attempted touch up...

Do you have to run a full winter tire setup in Vancouver? Love the car man... Those are easily my favorite STi wheels that have come out.

Thanks!

And with the one or two days of snow we get, probably not. there's actually a discussion in the local vancouver forum about that.. a lot of ppl would rather do it than not.. YMMV . haha. (in my case, yes though.)

edit: holy your paint is in good shape!

haha.. thanks. Everything but the hood is.. i have about 5 or 6 rock chips in it that I have touched up that still need to be blended. I had it professionally detailed(the works) about 6 months ago and it's help up great. Whenever I do my own detailing I use a claybar kit and a nice wax. keeps the paint looking pretty good!

I guess I just associate Vanouver with heavy winters and lots of snow.

I've also wondered why we never got a red gd sti here, or why they stopped making yellow ones....

Do not get me started on detailing. The Subaru paint is way too soft and swirls/scratches way too easily even with proper techniques. ugh!!

And Vancouver is actually associated with rain rain rain rain and more rain.. lol. Heavy winters and lots of snow is a bit east - in Calgary Alberta.

I wouldn't have chose that color on a red car... (probably would have done more highlighter yellow or something if i'm going crazy... maybe a blue and gone with a superman theme.. lol)

But that's the point of a dedicated "winter setup".. to do something off the wall just to switch it up a little bit. It's temporary so it's not like you are stuck with it forever
