I know I've said it in the bugeye thread but your car is 99% what I aim to one day own. It's just perfect and makes my pants moist.

Thanks!
With you being in Australia and all I'd think you should keep an eye out for something with an ej207!
Also on the topic of Australia, can you still get APS parts there new or only second hand. I have heard conflicting rumors about whether they are still in business or not. (I heard they had just pulled out of the US market)

The VF39 went on today, other than no more oil leak not much is different. I will put some pics of it on the car up tomorrow.

I also put a factory heatshield I finally cut to fit around the wastegate on, works just as well as any aftermarket, costs nothing because it came on the car.

Pictures as promised.

Here is the factory modified heat shield. Painted black with ceramic exhaust paint.
I really wish I would've done this along time ago, heat shields are very important!!

New VF39 is underneath

And the hood prop trick, keeps the hood open higher, so much easier to work.

New shot of the engine, not much changed.

Do you have a quick how to on how to do that hood prop mod? I have my lights out doing the black housing mod and would love to go ahead and do that.

Not really a mod just pull the little gray plug on passenger strut tower and move the prop up there.

Well I already own a bug *RX, not sold in the US as far as I know* but I want to build it up similarly to yours

Honestly I've only been looking into mods for a few years, but a quick google seems to indicate that APS are still active globally?

There website has been active the whole time but as far as I can find, no parts are available anywhere. I've looked on international sites and all, kind of a bummer.
Process West seems to have filled the market gap though but the prices are slightly higher.
Dat V-moungt Intercooler kit though

Nope, goes right in. Just turn it around and put the "L" shaped end into the strut tower after you put the other end in the hood prop hole on the hood.

make sure you put it in the hood first then into the hole on the strut tower, almost the whole hook will go in the hood.

Not much going on, bought a new timing cover thing that goes over the little hole that you can see the fly wheel through on the top of the block so I put that on. Apparently it went missing and noticed it when I did the turbo so that has been replaced.

I am thinking about getting some gauges anyone have any suggestions on what will match the OEM Lamco Boost gauge?
I was thinking the JDM Lamco's with oil pressure, temp and volts in the clock pod but they are extremely expensive. I want an OEM look.

That engine bay is looking great man, well thought out! How effective does the gold tape seem with temps? I just got a turbo wrap to go with my heatshield, but I've been thinking about getting some tape as well.

Looks like that piece was missing when you swapped Intake Manifolds.

Yeah probably went missing when the original owner had the car. I am not sure why it would be removed though, from my understanding the guy was some old retired navy guy and traded it in for a new is350 in 2007, don't think he modified the car at all as everything was stock.

Cleaned and lubed the BOV tonight, may get some of the TurboSmart lube and do it again soon. Someone had put copper grease in it which from my understanding isn't good for aluminum. Seems to be moving a bit smoother and quicker. I guess I will see how long the lube holds up.

Still no new pictures, been busy with Accounting and Calculus tests

I swear, even with less than appropriate tires, AWD makes getting around in poor conditions so easy. Also just being smart and not stopping where you can get stuck helps (stupid pick-ups on hill)

Only picture I took.

Drivers side tail light has gotten a lot of moisture built up so I decided to replace the tail lights. Ordered some JDM ones from eBay, surprisingly cheap for a pair. Apparently the JDM lights are slightly different than OEM here so I guess we will see when I get them. Pictures when they come.
