Post Disabling DRL (daytime running lights), other

I hate them. I turn my lights on when it's necessary, and I have a much lower threshhold for turning them on than most. But I don't want the lights on in broad daylight. So how do I disable them?

Also, I want to wire my V1 directly to the power connection for the auto-dimming mirror/compass. Can I just pull the wire out and do the in-line connector? Has anyone done this?

Finally, has anyone removed the tire ashtray assembly? How hard is it? That's where I want to mount my G-Tech Pro.

Ashtray bracket comes out easily, 2 screws, I think. Remove the ashtray and peer in there.

YOU may hate the running lights, but down here in Fl. I love them. They make the car noticeable especially to drivers whose vision is declining. You might find also that your insurance is a little less because of them. Remember, you are in a small car and anything that calls attention to it when on the road is a safety plus.
