So I went to get my ass handed to me at my 5th Rallycross event. This one was at SCCA national championships in Tulsa, OK at Tulsa Raceway Park. Super long and fun courses that they completly changed every 3 runs (8 runs total in 2 days and 3 courses). Stroke of bonus luck, a fellow Texas Rallysport member ended up not getting his car finished in time and asked to co-drive in mine. I was hesitant until he sad he had brand new Team Dynamics rally wheels and BFGoodrich rally tires that would fit! Woot! Here's a clip of one of the runs. Plenty of mistakes, but that just makes it all the more easy to improve for my next event =D

Here's a run from Day 2 when the sun came out. It was 31° in the morning before the sun came out! This one is unedited though, so sorry about the nonesense inbetween runs.

Damn hella 500's......you CANT mount them upside down or else the light beam will be aimed wrong.

On a better note, so far my bar and lights don't rattle or move even on some pretty rough roads.

some fun gravel drifting action. this is the best one of the videos i took last week in Tennessee.

my technical setup for the recording is super basic but seems effective. it is an iphone 4S mounted on the stretchy flap of the sunvisor. a side benefit is some image stabilization that the sunvisors provide... they damp out sharp bumps that the car hits while filming and mkes the videos less shakey. my stretchy flap is pretty gapped out, but the phone stays in place pretty reliably.

I do wonder if the light pods are custom pieces or if some shop has started doing them.
you can buy them.

Here are those lights being used on one of the most terrifying stages in the canadian rally championship. Not totally obvious in the video, but there is a 200ft exposure on the majority of the stage, very narrow, and very rough.

that is the Canadian subaru rally team driven by Pat Richard (Richard pronounced all french like) and codriver is Alan Ockwell.

Lots of neat videos on youtube of him driving.

Thanks for popping up a link though, maybe someone else will be able to use it.

Just watched a few minutes of that Pat Richard video, gotta watch the rest later. Man from the bit I did watch though, holy cow. That is a seriously narrow stage! Pat Richard is a awesome driver though. Personally I would say one of the best to ever come out of North America.

You guys should check out Rally Media on youtube. A bunch of coverage of rally's from all over the Netherlands as well as WRC events. Really awesome video quality, and the diversity of cars is fun to watch.

I'm subscribed to a bunch of other cool rally video threads from other countries as well if anybody interested I'll share.

Suspension is GC KYB struts, Stock GD springs, and GroupN GC tophats. Tires are BFGoodrich g-force GZG45R competition gravel tires.

Thanks! I took 3rd overall and first in class at that event. Was only 3 seconds off the leader (WRX) after 12 runs.

Default Still lurking...

I went through this ENTIRE thread tonight, ended up making a desktop slideshow out of all the AMAZING pics I've found here. Now I have some serious inspiration for the wagon I will own (been pinching pennies long before I started lurking here). The time is drawing oh so near...I can almost taste it!!
