Question Who sells Hi Po Brake Pads locally? Need 'em for Saturday PIR Track Day!

Hi everyone,

Anyone know of a local shop that would have "Track Day" Brake Pads?!

I'm heading to the PIR Driving School this coming Saturday, the 29th.

I'm looking for one of these types:
EBC RedStuff
Porterfield R4
Carbotech Panther+
Endless CC-X
FERODO DS2500
Project Mu
Pagi Blue 4-2

Thanks,
Russ

Hi Russ,

Can't help you find the pads you are looking for, but you might want to go to the Inland Empire BMW website, click on the emblem in the lower left hand corner, and read the article I wrote about my recent experience at PIR. I know you will have a great day there. I did. Hope to see you back in Spokane later this year.

Hi Ken,

Excellent writeup on the PIR event. I'm really looking forward to it.

I convinced Beth to take her TT down as well as a buddy to bring his Corrado.

I'm looking for more weekend school & track days in WA or Portland this year. Want to make as many as possible.

Thanks!
Russ

Russ,

Glad you liked the article. I had a good time at Portland. My schedule may allow me to attend this Saturday. I have sent an email asking if there are any spots left. We'll see what happens. May end up seeing you there. If not, have a great time.

Tire Rack might be able to get stuff to you overnight. Premium on the shipping, of course, but better than not at all

I talked to the sharp guys at Cascade Autosport. They use Porterfield R4 Pads for their race applications.

I was planning to swap race pads on for track days and switch back to street pads after the track day. Doesn't sound like such a good idea now. They made a good point about the pads needing to bed in with the rotors. They recommended the R4S for combo street and track day use.

Peter at Cascade Autosport says the regular R4 is somewhat noisy and a little hard on rotors for street driving. Oh, and dusty too.

So I'll try the Porterfield R4S.

I'll also be getting steel braided lines from them. I already have a few quarts of Super Blue brake fluid.

Looks like another Thursday evening pre-track day install fest!

I'll report back on how well these item improve the WRX's braking. The stock brakes were somewhat scary as they faded with hard use!
