Love it. And can't wait to see all the retards say it won't turn, and it's just like a Reliant Robin.

1,030# with driver
300-350hp from a 1.6L Juke Motor
4" wide Michelin front tires (that would fit a formula vee, but Michelin won't sell them)
0.24 CD

Really looking forward to seeing it run at LeMans.

The ACO told them they had to limit the engine out put to keep it behind the LMP1 cars.
And it is not a Nissan engine, it is a RML S2000 engine badged as Chevrolet in WTCC, and rebadged Nissan for the Deltawing.

Since Feb 2010, they have always discussed power levels in the 300 range. And great info on the RML engine.

he got his left wheels out beyond the track limits and lost control.

or it is another rich retired doctor that shouldn't be out there.

or both.

Ding, ding ding. Pretty close guess: another rich, old CEO with 2 years of racing experience.

...who has been asked to not return to ALMS this year.

The Delta Wing does fit right in with the new P2-DP proposed class for the merged Grand-Am ALMS series next year, and with Panoz behind it, it does have a future.

...and this is more proof as to why I don't like open cockpit cars. The driver is lucky to still have his head after bouncing off the grass.

...and yes, I put total blame on the Porsche driver on that one.

Does seem like it could use a higher roll hoop. That was pretty scary to see his head bouncing off the track and grass like that.

Or a wider sidepod area near the driver.

I can't find the article I read earlier but it said his head never actually hit the ground. Still, a slightly taller driver and it could have been very different.

In the slow-motion replay from in-car it does appear like he somehow just misses having an asphalt haircut. I couldn't see any scuffs on the helmet when the car came back over. But at first glance it definitely looked like he was touching the ground.

Delta Wing made it back for night practice

Also, Gunnar tweeted that his helmet never touched the ground.

There's a picture on jalopnik from after the crash, the Porsche driver not only blatantly took him out but then gave him the finger after the crash too.

Jalopnik has been slacking lately. First with the space shuttle tundra towing fiasco, and now this bs.

Holy **** at that crash! Looks to me like the Porche just over corrected. It's amazing to me that the Nissan didn't enter one of those Rally-esque rolling crashes. It sure did flip up when the Porsche made contact too.
