OT: Scariest Movie
Ok, so please tell me one or two of the scariest movies you have ever seen. I need a recommendation or two for an up-coming theme party. Don't give me your totally obscure ideas, I need something I can get on DVD at Rogers.
Thanks y'alls |

Keep em coming. For me Japanese flicks do it but it has to be something in English.

Most people don't think it was scary, but The Ring freaked the crap out of me. Couldn't look at a blank TV for like a month.

1408 freaked me out a bit.
I liked it when Sam Jackson said, "It's an evil ******* room". For "all-time" scary, I'd have to say that The Shining, The Excorcist and The Changeling are great scary movies. Last edited by 6th gear; 03-16-2009 at 11:28 PM. Reason: Devil made me do it |

That movie was seriously f-ed in the head. I liked it though.
There's another scary/suspense movie...name escapes me, but if anyone watch it name it please. Hints Stars Liv Tyler Story was about this couple who rented some house and then these group of people started terrorizing them. They wore these cloth masks, like that guy in Batman, and kept knocking on their front door in the middle of the night. That's all I'll say so I don't ruin it. I scared the crap out of my friend the next night when I went to his place and pounded on his door |

The Shinning, I think that will make the list. How about something NEWER...
Event Horizon was terrible (IMO). I don't want just a gory stupid movie, something with real fright value. For example I found 28 Days Later to be scary although it wasn't really a horror movie. |

is house of 1000 corpses that freaky scary? i'm watching the trailers and clips on youtube, and it looks like it was poorly filmed/acted.

Greetings from NWIC. After watching The Mothman Prophecies I couldn't look out windows at night for weeks. It may not be all that scary but it had a lasting effect, at least for me.
The original The Fog was pretty freaky too, in an isolated feeling sort of way. |

I saw this movie years ago and it still creeps me out. Based on true events....so they say. They were talking about this event and interviewing witnesses on Coast to Coast AM and it rekindled my fears.
