Default reccommend me a dlp projector

I am going to purchase a Projector thie weekend to use for Video gaming and tv and such. As os now i am torn between the InFocus X1 and X2. The X1 has a zoomable lense and component inputs ans thw X2 has a brighter bulb, those are the only differences i can see. I am trying to keep the cose under 800.

Actually, is it an X1, or an X1a? I got the 4800 a couple of months ago after seeing a friends X1. Mine has the same chip (faroudja?) in it as the X1 that is better for a standard def signal. The X1a and the X2 use a different chip. I don't remember all of the specifics (due to my ADD) but I spent countless hours at www.avsforums.com doing research. There are a ton of threads over there comparing different projectors.

It's pretty ****ing sweet playing PS2/XBOX on an 8' screen.

Here are a couple of bad pics of mine. It isn't properly mounted yet so the picture isn't square. The second pic is with our ceiling fan lights on about 6 feet away from the screen. We have a TON of ambient light in the room and it still looks good.

This is my 1st screen and it only cost about $30 to make. Half of that was paint.

I used a piece of formica painted with Behr paints "Silver Screen" color. Don't buy a gallon! You could paint a 100 screens and never use a gallon of paint. Don't use white because your contrast will suck ass. Your picture can only be as dark as the screen is. Then I got some floor trim and painted it flat black to absorb the overflow light from the projector. One of these days when I mount it I'll make the black border a little bit bigger to absorb all of the overflow light, but it looks great as is. Everyone that's seen it freaking loves it.
