Brake Pad Install Problems
I'm in the process of installing Carbotech Bobcat pads on my '99 Legacy/OB and although I'm followig the FAQ from Scoobymods, it doesn't seem to be quite the same for my car (the faq is for a GC8). I have no problem clipping the two plates onto each pad, but I am left with this one clip (as you can see in the picture.) I believe it was on only one of the pads. Where does it go?

See the groves on the left and right sides of the shims? That clip goes on to one of those grooves, its the wear indicator the long end should be facing away from the rotor I belive.

ok that makes sense now that I look at the other calipers. I ran into another problem now with the rear pads. There's no way that the shim (i think thats what it is) will clip onto the rear carbotech pads. the pads are shaped completely different from the OEM pads. What can I do about this?
the OEM shim doesn't fit on the new pad it fits fine on the old one |

I just got off the phone with Carbotech and it looks like Teague's Auto sent me the wrong rear pads. The correct part number is CT471.

Sorry to hear that, but good luck with the rest of the install once you get the right pads.

The free end of the second clip should face TOWARD the rotor. That way when the pad is worn down it will touch the rotor and squeal like crazy. The sound will let you know when you need new pads. Annoying sound, but you will definately know something is wrong.
