Noside's GR STI Built by IAG, Powered by BP Dom5, Battle Ready
Hello NASIOC!
Just to start I'd like to introduce myself very briefly. My name is Mike, I'm 23 and I'm from NJ. I purchased my 2010 DGM STI hatch in Feb of 2010 out of Bay Ridge Subaru in Bklyn NY. Since then the car has been a blast to drive. I had it modded with your basic intake, tbe, el headers, ebcs meth injection and tuned by me. Well that lasted about 42k miles and now here I start with a bad cylinder #2, a plan, a shop, and a bunch of parts! I've always done all of my own installs, tuning etc over the past 5 years with two cars. This time I think its just to much to handle on my own in Feb without a garage to even work in. Keeping that in mind I've talked to IAG performance to have them take care of the build and tuning. This is my build plan though FWIW. I'm open to comments, complaints what you think I should do differently etc. The plan is though to come as close to 500awhp as we can with everything in the stock location! 02/01/12 The start of my RE~build here's the plan Engine/Power adders Vigilant Motor Sports Track Series Short Block, built by Sean @ Vigilant - Ordered ETA 3 weeks · 2.5 Liter STi semi-closed deck case · Modified forged EJ257 crankshaft · High Performance ACL Main & Rod Bearings · Pauter 4340 Chrome-Moly Forged Rods · CP Forged Pistons w/ Moly Coated Skirts · High Performance Piston Rings · Fully Balanced & Blueprinted · 8,500 Rev Limit Recommended Manley Sport Compact Valve Springs and Retainers [email protected] / [email protected] / [email protected] ( these were the lightest upgraded springs I could find, I didn't want to overload the stock valves with a double spring ) KillerB Motor Sport Oil Pan, Pickup, and Baffle Injector Dynamics 1000CC Injectors Perrin Black Fuel Rail kit DW 65C pump Snow Performance Stg3 WMI -4AN custom dual port KS Tech MegaMAF Type 3 CAI Agency Power 3" Solid Turbo Inlet Process West TMIC Forge BPV CNT catless bell mouth DP ERZ quad CBE Tomei EL headers IAG 38mm EWG 3 bolt uppipe Tial 38mm EWG GrimmSpeed EBCS Engaged Performance PNP Throttle Body / Intake Manifold / TGV Deletes OEM Engine Gasket Set FluiDampr Gates Racing timing belt kit with water pump Gates Racing power steering and alternator belt OEM 12mm Oil Pump OEM Oil Cooler Tomei Timing belt guide NGK 1 step colder plugs Torque Solution air pump delete plates Perrin alternator and radiator covers Torque Solution 12mm exhaust hangers Blouch Dominator 5.0XTR the biggest, baddest mammer-jammer bolt-on turbo for the Subaru WRX/STi offered by Blouch Drivetrain / Suspension / Mounts / Bushings Clutch Masters Fx300 segmented kevlar disk OEM Flywheel TigWerks Motor Mounts Torque Solution Pitch Stop Groupe N Trans Mount Torque Solution Positive Shift kit Torque Solution Prop shaft inserts Torque Solution rear shifter bushing Perrin Shifter bushing insert SPT OEM Short throw shifter Fortune Auto Dreadnought Coilovers, 9kF/10kRR Custom Swift Spring rates (Ordered Nov 9th) Whiteline 24mm front and rear adjustable sway bars Kart Boy solid endlinks GT Spec rear lower control arms Cusco Front power brace Exterior INGS+1 shaved and smoothed Front Bumper Badge less Grill Rear De-badged Red outline tails Rally Armor mud flaps WeatherTech Rain Guards DressupBolts.com Ti dress up kit Wheels / Tires / Brakes / Lugs OEM 18" Forged BBS silver wheels on OEM Dunlops 17x8 Sparco wheel 235/45/17 blizzak lm-60 Hawk HPS pads Fortune Auto Ti Smart series lugs. Just have to say Rick is par none as far as customer service goes. This guy will not dissapoint you. I had a few problems with dealing with a shop 3 hours away but Rick is taking care of everything, down to even getting my car to IAG. Thanks man, I try to keep her clean even though its my DD. I always appreciate the comments on my photos. Thanks every day it feels a little more promising then the last . No real updates for today, just got off the phone with my engine builder and my pistons are leaving swaintech today and he should be done building my motor middle of next week. I should have the motor by the last week of feb/ first week of march when I get back from Radial Rumble the night the lights went out at SGMP. Should be a good surprise to return home with. Side note, big updates expected for tomorrow as long as the men in brown don't let me down |

Why you Jelli Bro!? I've been stuck driving my back up 88 cavalier because of this!
Whats even better is White Castle breakfast to get the snow day started. If anyone hasn't tried a breakfast slider yet they don't know what they're missing! Last edited by noside; 02-14-2012 at 07:28 PM. |

why the top mount, that will be a limiting factor for power for sure with the Dom-5, but besides that killer build! Love that front bumper! but you sure do have a lot of $$$$ in pats though! haha

Lastly the most non performance reason that I dont initially want a fmic is because of the bumper. It's very aerodynamic the center lower grill opening completely seals itself against the condenser. A lot of hacking away at the bumper would have to happen to get it to work. And to be honest that bumper took me about 6 months to get and have painted along with about $1600 end price tag and I really dont want to do that. If it really turns out to be a huge limiting factor well do something about it but atleast now you know my reasoning. |
