Default Noside's GR STI Built by IAG, Powered by BP Dom5, Battle Ready

Hello NASIOC!

Just to start I'd like to introduce myself very briefly. My name is Mike, I'm 23 and I'm from NJ. I purchased my 2010 DGM STI hatch in Feb of 2010 out of Bay Ridge Subaru in Bklyn NY.

Since then the car has been a blast to drive. I had it modded with your basic intake, tbe, el headers, ebcs meth injection and tuned by me. Well that lasted about 42k miles and now here I start with a bad cylinder #2, a plan, a shop, and a bunch of parts!

I've always done all of my own installs, tuning etc over the past 5 years with two cars. This time I think its just to much to handle on my own in Feb without a garage to even work in.
Keeping that in mind I've talked to IAG performance to have them take care of the build and tuning. This is my build plan though FWIW.

I'm open to comments, complaints what you think I should do differently etc. The plan is though to come as close to 500awhp as we can with everything in the stock location!

^ thanks Rick I'm likewise as excited to have my build done with you guys. Can't wait to come down in a couple weeks.

Just have to say Rick is par none as far as customer service goes. This guy will not dissapoint you. I had a few problems with dealing with a shop 3 hours away but Rick is taking care of everything, down to even getting my car to IAG.

Thanks every day it feels a little more promising then the last .

No real updates for today, just got off the phone with my engine builder and my pistons are leaving swaintech today and he should be done building my motor middle of next week. I should have the motor by the last week of feb/ first week of march when I get back from Radial Rumble the night the lights went out at SGMP. Should be a good surprise to return home with.

Side note, big updates expected for tomorrow as long as the men in brown don't let me down

Whats even better is White Castle breakfast to get the snow day started. If anyone hasn't tried a breakfast slider yet they don't know what they're missing!

why the top mount, that will be a limiting factor for power for sure with the Dom-5, but besides that killer build! Love that front bumper! but you sure do have a lot of $$$$ in pats though! haha

The kit is complete the welds are perfect inside and out, and there is no flex section. I bought this setup before I even new I was going to IAG because it looked well put together.

A couple reasons I decided to use a tmic. First I wanted to keep lag to absolute minimum by keeping everything in the stock location but still getting the biggest turbo in there that I can. Next ill be running wmi so that does an extremely great job at bringing down IAT's and keeping detonation from occurring regardless of intake temps. I'll wrap the pw core in reflectagold along with the y pipe, intake, and inlet. Headers, uppipe, ewg dump will / are wrapped in dei titanium exhaust wrap. This stuff is serious I can not feel radiating heat from the components wrapped pretty much at all. Titanium turbo blanket is on order as well, I needed to get the measurement of the exhaust side of the turbo today to figure out which size I would need.
Lastly the most non performance reason that I dont initially want a fmic is because of the bumper. It's very aerodynamic the center lower grill opening completely seals itself against the condenser. A lot of hacking away at the bumper would have to happen to get it to work. And to be honest that bumper took me about 6 months to get and have painted along with about $1600 end price tag and I really dont want to do that.
If it really turns out to be a huge limiting factor well do something about it but atleast now you know my reasoning.
