^agreed^ I really like little custom things like that and the engineering it takes to get it done but IMO that shift knob just doesn't fit. But hey props on going for it!

Custom GD gauge pods - fiber glass works with the factory clock pod and dash plastic trim.

I tried to make everything to look as factory as possible

I like it all but the different gauge styles and different colors and AP cause the wire, I would put it on the left side and hide it, other then that I really like all the clean work

I love how people are still ripping on that knob when even the guy who made it doesn't like it.

"Custom" diffuser. It's haggard. I'll probably make another one.

I have wanted to contribute to this thread for a long time, finally have a worthwhile addition.

I made two things, one is a custom bracket for my FPR on the back of my short runner intake manifold, this isn't a worth while addition by itself, however I am proud of what is below.

Secondly is my relocated power steering reservoir. I have had my car tore apart for 13-14 months now, just getting talented enough with tig welder to start manipulating metal effectively.

Considerations for this part:
Reason : Stock one sucks, trying to tidy up the engine bay where possible.
Hood Clearance : Good
Drainage : Nope - I will be using a squeeze ball to empty this sucker out.
Vented Cap : Thought about it, will address if it becomes a problem. My plan is to get fluid hot, vent and seal the cap, then it will be at worst atmospheric pressure, ever so slight vacuum when cold.
Volume : 2-3 CI more than the stock "hot" max. Stock volume at that point was 27.5-28CI, so this is a 10% safety margin which I'm okay with
Mounting Have a tab on top as shown, working to land another tab below the throttle body, those two points and two hoses worth of tension will suffice.
Flow : all holes were drilled out to a minimum of 1/2" ( -8 AN ). Some of the holes ended up being a bit bigger than that. The low pressure return will be a 6AN and is going to be mounted on the back side of the tank
Project Duration Tough to tell since when parts would be cooling down I'd be doing other things, but 5-7 hours.

Comments are welcome

What did you use in the center console to mount the plugs? Was it just some plastic you had laying around that just happened to fit or is it a little more custom than that?

Hi, I thought I would share my custom Escort radar detector hardwire.

I started by disassembling the 12v power plug. The mute button and both the power and alert LEDs were integrated into the plug.

I used a rotary bit on my Dremel and gutted part a stock Subaru dash plug.

With some careful trimming and planning it will go together. I epoxied the card to the block off plate, taking care not to glue the mute button or cover the LED holes.

Not much to explain. Just go slow and remove enough for the circuit board and layout the LED holes so the stock charger plug sticker will match.

I found power and ran my radar detector cord into the seam of the dash and the defroster plastic.

Looks good, I did the exact same thing a few years ago, but that microchip failed on me a few weeks ago.

So I'm directly re wiring it to an on off switch this time.
