WRX Carbon Fiber Driveshaft Group Buy!!!!
The WRX driveshafts are finally here. Only fifteen exist in known Federation space and we have them in stock. We’re having a Group Buy for these. Based on the number of requests we have had, the group buy number of 15 will be met, so the driveshafts will ship right away when you pay. They will be sold for the same price as the previous STi, driveshaft $1099 plus US (including Alaska, Hawaii. & Puerto Rico) shipping of $39.99 or $64.99 Canada. We have more in the pipeline and will have available ASAP. These things are just labor intensive to make.
To get your driveshaft go to the WRX Group Buy link and enter your Group Buy discount code of “wrxds”. The final price will reflect the Group Buy price. Please leave feedback about the driveshaft on the forum after you install so we can start getting a body of knowledge about them. STi driveshaft customers, don’t despair, the STi driveshafts are almost done. We are hoping for next week to announce them. Ciao Jim SOJDM.com

Its been running about $85.00 to France. One note though. Some Euro model vehicles need to have some minor machine work done. The flange is drilled differently for North American models so holes would have to be drilled in the flange and I think a spacer has to be added.

This is a race part so no warranty unless a problem develops right away (say thirty days). But so far ACPT has been good about correcting for the few problems that have developed. |

Good for a daily driver. It's a passive part. Survives in racing and on large trucks.
No particular problems have arisen. Again, read the threads. They're written by users and constitute a great resource. GB for the STi will be announced as soon as the driveshafts are available. |

Trying to research this item, I found this:
http://www.stangpro.com/html/articles/driveshaft.htm Not the same company, but the guy tried hard to document the effects of the CFDS. |

Definitely interested since the part has excellent reviews from the STi owners. Does anyone know the difference in weight between a stock WRX driveshaft and a stock STi driveshaft? Also, what is the expected weight of the WRX CF driveshaft?
I ask because I'm assuming that the information for the WRX driveshaft on sojdm.com is copied from the STi driveshaft info since it is word for word, but that it just my assumption. -Eric |

I thought the joints for each year of the WRX were different, thus it was difficult creating the piece? How come there are no options to choose between the different years of the WRX?

However, there was a problem with the shaft hitting a point on the floor board right in front of the rear differential. I was lucky as I inspect the car after every track day including putting it up on a lift and that when we discovered a groove on the shaft from hitting said point on the floor. Gone unnoticed I'm sure it would have destroyed the shaft ultimately. We think that as the car flexes during high speed cornering, accelerating and under hard braking while on the track, there's some "play" that allows this to happen. It couldn't be anything more than mm's as the groove is pretty tiny and shallow but it's there. So we pounded the floor boards a bit, used a Sharpie to color the groove and so far (knock on wood) it has not re-manifested itself after a couple of track days. Other than that prepare to be amazed as to how quickly the revs get up. And I'm only a AP Stage 2 (though with meth) with a catted DP even. |

I imagine that with production variances, the floorboard to driveshaft distance could vary vehicle to vehicle. On a few vehicles this might result in too tight a clearance without some persuasion on the floorboard. I say a few because I have only heard of this happening once or twice.
