Default a few mod questions

So I'm pretty poor after I bought my 09 rex, but I have the modding fever. I'm also in the military and can't really afford to carry around large stock parts (exhaust, etc) with me, so I was wonderin a couple things.

Would I need a tune with just a downpipe? Also, how is the sound difference with just a downpipe and the stock exhaust on?

What would be the most effective mods that I could do without a tune (like just the dp)?

I did a quick search and found a couple things already but i'm still pretty damn uneducated.

thanks

You would need to get a tune with a DP, or you are risking severe damage to your motor.

Go stage 2. Then sell stock parts. You can get like 100 for the DP alone.

Stage 2 is accepted as:
Down Pipe.
Cat back.
Tune.

Later.
