Attn: Necromancer (Joe Luk) and Joel Gat concerning rear brake swap
I need to know what size the rear brake hub Bolt is as I do not have thatsize socket to remove then and I am doing a hub swap to 99rs rear brakes. Any help or advice would be appreciated. BTW Joe your missing out down here in San Diego way too many event's and such coming up but we will see you at the N. vs. S meet 2 when the North feels like attempting to take the crown back from us So. Hello,
I believe the nut is 32 mm, but I'm not sure. I can check at home. As for N v. S, c'mon down to Buttonwillow and we'll compare _real_ skills - not driving around in second gear and cheering as we slide around tiny little cones. Let's see how the N and S fare against eachother on a real track... And maybe, this time, someone can convince Mike Shields to actually DRIVE at the event. I'll put my 1.8 up against his! JYD |

Hey Rich, long time no talk. Us green 2.2's need to stick together sometimes. :>
32mm sounds about right for the hub bolt, but I honestly don't remember because I was in Mike Shields' garage when the installation was done. One thing though -- get a big fat breaker bar or some air tools as all Subaru stuff tends to rust shut (maybe that's what holds everything together, hehe). What I can tell you is that you will really feel the difference with the rear discs. No longer is braking a mushy proposition with the fronts completely locking up while the car continues to plow along. Plus we have the single stage booster which is also a nice plus. Of course you knew all this stuff already. :> Cheers, Joe |

Joe thanks we definetly need to stick together . The single stage booster might explain why i don't really have much mush in the brakes. All I need to get now is the Front RS calipers as I already have the rotors(by accident/mistake). I will have to hook up with you when I head back North after my Tour is done(wonder if everyone will still like me after the bonfire I keep fanning between the N and S )

Is Buttonwillow gonna be a time trials? Or just hot lap time? If it's not a time trials, we won't be able to compete in any real sense, since you can only pass in straights.
I'm not a big fan of Auto-x in reality, it's just cheaper and closer than most track events. I used to race 750 supersport Motorcycles with the WSMC, and not getting out of second gets old when you're used to doin 120 in 8 at the big track, trust me. Later all! Arik |

Hello,
Arik, Open Track is a hot-lapping event. That means we drive round and round and the rule is "Passing on the straights, but at buttonwillow that means that there are 4 passing zones." So, there are 4 places where proper final turn setup makes a difference. Seems like you can still be competative in a friendly manner... Joel |

Click on Open-Track Registration and then chose one or two days of hotlapping ($140 per day, $210 for both days). Fill in all the info, too. See you there! Randy, what tires you gonna use? I'm probably going to try to kill my street tires at this event JYD |
