'04 Baja question
Hello all,
I was wondering how many others out there are waiting like me for the '04 baja model line up? I know that everyone is probally not only waiting for the turbo. Some like to get the 2nd model year of a vechiel to give the companys time to bang out all the new model issues. I have heard from many subaru sales people that they don't think that the baja won't last another year because of the slow sales. I was just wondering if the slow sales are just due to the lack of a turbo, or just to new and people want to wait for a year to see if it will last. Ben

Count me in for one! Realistically, though, if I were an SOA, I don't know if I could justify making improvements on Baja with turbo, or whatever, only to be forced to sell below the cost (pretty much). They can make Sports turbo and that may interest me, but not much of others... So at this point, as lots of folks on this board is suggesting, I'd take it off line on hte current platform, do something like GMC did - sun roofing the entire bed and make it useful to regular buyers. Or scratch the idea... Either way, I really don't see Baja survive too long - and that's why I want it now. I like 2k rebate and 0% financing even better! Oh one thing - I mountain bike every week here in Colorado, but I have yet to see any Baja at the trailhead. That tells me something. Only ones I saw was grandma driving around... Turbo's gonna change that? Hummm...

Baja Turbo
Hello, I'm also waiting for the new Baja Turbo.I went and drove one last weekend and it feels like it rides alittle stiffer than my 03 Baja i could tell it sits up higher.I'm waiting to see the new mistic blue pearl color to see if i want that color or Regetta Red which is my present color.what i like about the Baja the most is you won't see one at every intersection like other makes.

I'm thinking (still) of the '04 turbo. My biggest hangup is the fuel economy. My daily driver now goes about 3000 miles a month, and getting a car (truck?) with less economy just doesn't make sense. But I still want it!
If there's even a chance that it won't be around long enough to benefit from a new platform, that would actually push me harder to purchase. Get one while you can theory. |
