Default 2011 OBP 4dr STi Limited - too good to be true?

this car has 16k miles on it and comes with mods...

nvidia CBE
catless DP
process west tmic
perrin CAI
stg2 tune via Cobb AP
some kind of lowering springs

dealer is asking 28,900... my research on stock comparables says this should be somewhere in the 33-35k range...

its damn clean inside and out with no visible damage or paint issues...

should i be wary? this seems a bit too good to be true....

thanks,

If the Carfax checks out, get it inspected by a mechanic. If it all checks out I don't see why not, besides the modifications.

Yeah I would definitely check that cars rugs. It probably is a flood car. There's a lot of those in queens. I work for a honda dealer and see people trying to trade in flood cars all the time now. I would try to get under that rug and see if there's moister. Also under that rear seat cushion. That rear seat is a sponge and its hard to dry. Check for rust, salt residue ect. Good luck and if all that checks out and the car runs good. JUMP ON IT!! Lol

Maybe it's just a good deal. That's always a possibility... and so is flood damage.

I wouldn't buy a modded car without speaking to the prior owner to get the full story and judge how smart / retarded they are.

It very likely could be that some kid owned it and was beating the crap out of it, possibly even doing some of the work themselves w/o really knowing what they're doing. surprises ahead. maybe.

The dealership may be taking into account the fact that a lot of people don't want to buy a modded car and those modifications will pretty much guarantee denial of warranty claims related to the engine.

Anyone else see the letters "A B" imprinted in the leather of the driver's seat? At the bottom of the seat back.

Someone wearing their pants backwards with a big belt buckle or something? Kriss Kross wannabe?

I see it... And I saw it on another limited sedan as well... Can anyone confirm this on their limited 2011 sti? It's on both front seats by the lumbar.

I hope to get a mechanic out there tomorrow some how, I'll report back any findings... Thx everyone for your input.

They won't let you drive it to a mechanic and have it inspected? In the past I've had car dealers allow me to do this, albeit with older cars...if they're trying to make it difficult for a mechanic to take a look at it it would seem sketchy to me. Is the title clean?

^LOL

Dunno if you got it or not but carfax dont mean anything (not everything is reported) and you should not only use carfax. Best bet like someone said was a mechanic.

Always ask yourself why a guy would sell a brand new car with mods after 1 year of ownership and not even take the time to get the car back to stock. And then, why is it sold for the price of a wrx.

Hey Guys, new guy here but worked in the industry.

The reason someone could of got rid after is money. It could of been a repo car, that would make the price lower (depending on what the bank owned the for). Of he needed to lower his payments because of situations that we do not know.

Just have someone look at it, if you can't the time off and don't feel comfortable just purchasing the car then it is not the right car for you. Other cars will always come up.
