I would steer away from the off brand turbo's.

vf43 is a great turbo.

blouch 20gxt(r) is a great turbo.

mixing parts from one turbo to the other should be done by people who are bored and have money to burn.

You may be right. I thought Subaru had beefed it up a notch higher due to the bigger engine's torque. but anywho i will read up those FAQs thank you.

JFC dude. How many times have you stated that the 5 speeds are NOT weak and anyone who says otherwise is a moron?

There must be a glitch in the matrix.

And people who do 6 speed swaps are NOT ignorant. Kickbacks much?

I stated that the 06/07 is possibly the weakest 5 speed. I have no statistical data to back this up only data that I have seen by haunting the transmission forum since you were in middle school. For many, the 5 speed can and will last a long time. Now if you look at the OP (and no offense personally meant to the OP now as I don't want to get nasty here) one can see that he wants 350-400 to the wheels and is a knucklehead. When you combine those two factors with the 3.70 final drive that the 06/07 is equipped with, the likelihood for a transmission explosion is quite high, hence my advice. 5 speeds are NOT weak, but if you throw ignorance and power at them, they are LIKELY to break.

And, most people who do 6 speed swaps are ignorant as they are sheep who get a 6 speed for the sake of getting a 6 speed to tell their buddies they have a 6 speed. Is that YOUR case? I don't know....I don't know you, but there's no need to get all butthurt. I can list the pros and cons between 6MT vs. 5MT and 97.6% of Subaru owners can't list what they had for lunch yesterday so that puts me in the spot of being able to offer my opinion and for many it is 5MT and likely is the case for the OP.

I get 0 kickbacks from any transmission manufacturer or installer. I currently have PPG gears in my car and you know what? **** PPG. Would someone with a vested interest say that?

"I have no statistical data to back this up only data that I have seen by haunting the transmission forum since you were in middle school"- so by reading this tells me that you may have bad information?!! Your trusting someone else's poor logic something you wanted to tear into me about the other day!
Hypocrite much?
Knucklehead?? Come on man really?
I can see if i came on this forum and asked "which cold air intake is better"
But i came on here for information, i know parts will break..im well aware of the things to come!
I baby that tranny for the simple fact is i know whats going to happen..ignorance is not in play here..
Lil shoaf (good friend) told me 12k is what it cost him for his ppg set..
I can get a 6 speed swap with brembos 3k..
I mean do the math
Shoaf did the ppg for the simple fact he was at 500+hp
All i want is 350+ 6 speed seems more realistic to me.
Same as everyone using there heads and keeping there wallet fat
6 speed is the way..for the cost

Vf43 port and polished (pnp) VF is OK but I'd go with a Blouch, see what they offer.
Intake manifold pnp gains?
Tgv deletes pnp good choice
Exhaust manifold pnp Good call, but include a GS X-pipe
Throttle body pnp gains?
Grimmspeed up pipe (gs) cant go wrong with GS anything
3 port boost solenoid make it a GS and not a GM
gs 8mm phonelic spacers gs+ 3mm k spec spacers I'm running the 8mm GS spacers. The additional 3mm may be a touch much but I guess it can't hurt.
38mm tial ewg
Invidia turbo back catless bellmouth
255 walbro check out the DW 300
Aerometer fpr necessary?
Perrin fmic APS is sexier but if you already have the Perrin..
Perrin fuel rails necessary? but cant hurt
K&N intake stock OK, cold air OK. Hot air (short ram) not ok.
Step colder plugs ok
Aquamist water/meth kit 6 series (with and without the kit) got e-85 in your area? better than meth.

All these parts are in the basement awaiting the install!!! aside for the tbe stage 2.cobb tune Still running stock tr injectors 550cc* will they hold or should i mod the injectors?too small. check with your tuner. 1000cc is closer to what you want.550 is WAY too small.
Stock cutch..i baby it Fully braced car on tein coilovers Thanks for any input you have guys!!save up for a 6 speed (or any of the other 57 options that all start with P and end with G that will cost far more and still leave you with a non DCCD 5 speed slopbox.

Thanks again
All arguing aside, I'll throw my opinion on your mods.

Jack
thanks for the input its much appreciated!!

Looking into a cross pipe from gs now
3pbcs is grimmspeed
I went with the 11mm spacers simply because i want to do the rotated intake manifold in the near future.
Closest e85 station is 45min...figured meth is the next best thing..
I have contemplated doing the 550cc injector mod then flow test them.
The mod sets the injectors something like hi 700's low 800's cc.
6 speed seems the best bang for your buck!
Thanks again

I still don't get the constant badmouthing of the 6 speed. You are aware that NEARLY EVERY MODERN SPORTSCAR AND SUPERCAR comes with a 6sp manual right? Somehow 1 extra gear (that keeps you in the powerband more) is simply too much?

Can you at least agree that they are very robust, and with all the years they have been out now, buying a 6 speed is an affordable option.

I know your knowledge level of these cars is at a master level, and far beyond mine. That said, I am not completely ignorant of these cars and I keep reading these inflammatory statements and I can't figure out why.
