I will be at the SCCA Open House at David Hobbs. I will also have the new Solo Helmet stickers and can do Season Tech for the Solo Drivers.

wimp...that wasn't a big hit.

It only slightly bent the cage over your head.

I'm usually around, although I'm travelling more for work this summer, which sucks. I prefer the Tuesday meets, I'm usually trying to work on the rally car on the weekends.

The only reason the cage didn't bend further is because my head stopped it!

Chad your alternator is done, I'll pick it up this week and can bring it to the tuesday meet if its close to my house (dog class @ 6)

So I got a call today from someone saying there was a large amount of WRXs at the Park-N-Ride on HWY 100 and Layton today. Said there were 2 sheriffs blocking the entry to it as well. Just wondering if anyone know what was going on there as I didn't see any post about it yet.

There was no thread on clubwrx about that, at least in the local forum that I saw (I may just be the worst mod ever).

A couple more questions for everyone....

1. 30k service.... how many of you took it in to the dealership to get it done? how many did it themselves? (i need to get mine done, but don't have the cash for the dealership, and don't have the know-how for doing it myself)

2. Track events... is there anyone on here who knows much about upcoming open track events or organizations that run them? I know that SCCA has some, but they seem to be for race cars, not street cars.

On the helmet issue i think I'm going to end up going with the Pyroprotect SA2005 open face. The airbag issue has weighed in on the decision as well, since its been said that if the airbag deploys, its possible for it to catch on the full face helmets and cause problems. So ill just settle for the open face but get the latest standard. For $150 i don't think its too shabby.

Did mine myself and have helped others with theirs. It is easy.

is that an offer to help?

about what did you pay for all the junk needed? Ive got tools, but thats about it.

As far as the links go, i actualy was going through both of those today. Marked the events on my calendar and such. But what i was asking, was for more info on high speed events. High speed autox or open track days.

as for the 30k Disorder...PM me.

It was only my first one, but kudos to the folks that did the SCCA Open House. Seemed well attended to me, with car-folk of every stripe. I even got to meet 2superblus - a standup guy who offered more advice than this old head could absorb.

Cool

I was there for about 20 min around noon or so with my wife and boy. The kid was getting a kick out of all the race cars, but much like any 2 year old, he wanted to touch touch touch. :P Some fine looking cars there.

I was expecting to see more of a club sort of turnout, but it seemed like more of a passer-by showing. I could be very very wrong though. I don't know anyone yet, so the ability to recognize anyone was out the window. I did however grab some paperwork and forms to send in for the drivers school and solo events.

So when is the next meet guys? i need to start cataloging faces and names LOL.

I was going to as well but then saw that you have to be an SCCA member (mine lapsed last summer), and have to have been in several events within the last year. ruiner FTL

We chatted a bit about our suby's. Nice guy. he had to run quickly but I'm going to mention the group here to see if he wants to join a meet or two.
