Default SMC kit on a stock 06 STI?

Just put the kit on last night, but dont really notice much "performance gains." Is this even worth having?

You need a tune to take advantage of this.

Yea, I have the denatured Alcohol, but haven't created the 50/50 mix yet. Honestly, I don't think I want this on the new car. I prefer just the simple bolt-ons and a tune.

If you dont want to run alky/ meth you can take advantage of being able to run just h2O and getting a tune be able to increase the boost. Water will help with cooling the engine. No power gains besides being able to run more boost.
Talk to your tuner, it is def. a plus to run water if you dont want to run a 50/50 solution.

You can safely run water only without a tune.

Pure water does not give you power, you will not lose any power running water without a tune. Water only gives you safety when it comes to knock control.
Tuning for water gives your tuner the ability to advance timing and boost at points where without the water you would have severe knock.
I ran water for a long time without loss of power without a tune.

Also water does not effect AFR's as well which is another reason why it does not rob power when it is injected untuned. It however does not allow you to advance timing much more at all from my tuning experience but does allow you to safely increase boost a bit more which helps torque down low quite a bit. The more meth/alky mixture you inject allows more timing like that of a racegas tune.
