Ew, that sucks man; both for you and for the rest of us on the verge of getting cars with STS...

Hopefully they'll offer to do a dealer install for the same price. I would think that's most fair to the customer. Otherwise, best of luck man. Hopefully they throw you a bone for your troubles if they're not willing to flex anywhere else.

I've been in one with and without and made a note that it was something I had to have. It was more comfortable driving with it...like it was too low without it. It didn't interfere with shifting. For some reason it seems foreign cars have small short arm rests, my Nissans and Hyundai were the same way....not sure if your height makes a difference but I'm 6'0.

Time to start monitoring the tropics. West Coasters only have one ocean to worry about. Gathering that East Coasters rides pass through Panama, we only have three

Cheer up man. Your car is HERE!!!

You don't want them to rush the PDI nor the detailing of the car. I promise.

I know, I know...but I'm not a patient man. I should be pleased, I placed my order late and still got what I wanted fast. Still..I can't be pleased until I drive my car!!

Speaking of, you bring up a valid point. How annoyed to sales staff get when you try to deliver a brand new car only to have the buyer give it a full inspection? The FRS frame damage thread somewhere here has me thinking it's worth a look around before I sign. Might even check the oil. Jerk eyerolling move perhaps, doesn't hurt though I figure?

Once had a part time job at a Chevy dealer, in a pinch they had me PDI a Malibu. Found something odd. One side had black door moulding, other had painted. After notifying the sales manager, customer had to come back another night.

Doing that just might give them less headaches of other dealers calling to trade for it. We don't always reserve the car coming in. Now, we have reserved one because we were getting soo many calls for trades on it.

You should see them do it also compared to dealer installed. Very cool.

You have the right to inspect the car in any way you please. I can only speak to how annoyed I would get if you did that, which would be not at all!!! You just dropped 30K or more on a car, do your thing mang

Pretty much everyone else probably would get annoyed, but that is speculation

Exactly. The dealer who hooked me up with my Camaro SS tried to give me some speech about "oh we look everything over twice and did everything you asked." only for me to look out the window and go "Then why is there still white stripes on it?"

Have to inspect your vehicles before you leave. Even simple obvious stuff (like those stripes) gets missed and you have to deal with things going the hardway.

You definitely want the detail, and you are kinda lucky sense the big storm has now passed, you get to enjoy a clean car longer than I.

You will be most pleased.

The rest of my parts showed up today, with the STP exhaust, it sounds, and feels like a new car. With the STS bushing installed, the shift quality feels better(even though somehow I keep mistaking 5th for 3rd). And the roof racks add a touch of uniqueness I don't see much of up here. Pics will come soon.

Got some amazing news today! I called my sales guy just to check in and see if he has a way to tell me the date the car will be delivered. He said that he just checked and the car is waiting to leave port and it should be here within 7 days! SWP STi Limited Sedan w/ Navi ordered 8/16

well not as soon as i posted last time about my car, but mike emailed me today to say my car is waiting to be shipped with an eta of 10/11. I can't tell you how excited I am now a shorter wait than i expected after putting my order in on 8/29. Congrats to everyone who has their cars already or cars are on way. PBP WRX hatch with fogs, in case anyone was wondering.

Perhaps everyone getting their cars from Mike @ Evanston that weekend should all get their cars together and take a group picture.

I feel like we've all been on this long journey together and we finally (almost) made it!
