It's a good place for collaboration on swapping and help as well as info. Just dont be a JONG and search before you ask a question.

I think the 207 motor needs its own sub forum so each topic can have its own thread, it will make searching easier than the 122 page thread.

Lots of people are swapping these motors, as result lots of people have little issues without knowing how to trouble shoot or fix them. Because of this the same issues come up over and over when there should be a single thread about purchasing or AVCS troubleshooting, ect.

I'd support an EJ207 sub forum...

Then the 32-bit guys can get down to business.

agreed, it would help separate general car maintenance questions from 207 specifics.

A section with a contact list of paying and non-paying nasioc vendors for motors would be keep the traffic down for those shopping around.

I have used this thread to find the spark plug part number I should be using for my v7 ej207. Per the thread I ordered these (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000HWK74K/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00) When i pulled them out of the box I noticed they were gapped to .0035". I re-gapped them to .0030 . I also noticed that in the reviews on amazon they said they were the oem replacement for a honda s2000. Do I have the correct plugs or am I just being totally paranoid?

The -11 at the end of the plug means 1.1 mm. Or 044 gap. This is for a non turbocharged car.

The NGK book catalog was printed wrong years ago and for some reason, they dont want to fix it.

You should never try to gap -11 plugs down to 030. The reason is the top ground strap (the part the spark jumps to) will then be at an angle leaning down. This distorts the spark and shields the leading edge of the electrode.

The correct and best plug for these engines is the NGK 2667. Never order plugs by the BKR7EIX number. Its very possible you will then get BKR7EIX-11 plugs in the mail.

Each weak I find several cars I am tuning have the wrong plugs in the 2.0 and 2.5 subarus. -11's will reduce the output power in a huge way due misfire under boost. In fact, they wont support more then about 12 to 13 psi before they start to act up.

Hey guys, I'm wrapping up my v9 sti swap into my 02 wrx. The passenger side timing belt cover on the v9 engine was cracked really bad, so I figured no biggie I'll just use the cover off of my 02 wrx engine. Problem is that the v9 sti cover has a bigger top cam gear, so the mold of my 02 wrx cover doesn't come out far enough to go over it. And to the question, Will the usdm 06 sti cover work? Is it molded for the bigger top(intake) cam gear? Thanks.

In theory they will all pass emissions, But we need to know the car the engine is going into. And if they only check codes and you can make them go away you will pass.

I passed CO emissions with flying colors on my 32bit v9 engine that supposedly doesnt run

Our emissions out here is consist of sniffer and dyno and cel check.

Different states use different scanners, some have no issues connecting to JDM ecus others do it just depends on where you are.
