Default Anybody else get the STi Replica cf front lip from MAShaw?

I know Shawrf1 got one. I want to ask about the quality.
I just got mine, and my brother's, in today.

A couple of complaints.
1. Poorly packed. This leads to my biggest problems, which are
2. scratches all over it. Not swirl marks, big gouges, The two lips came together in one box, which I wouldn't have a problem with, except all that was supposed to separate them was a piece of cardboard(which wasn't even in between them).
3. You can see right through the fibers. Now, when its fitted to the car, you can't see light through them, so thats not too big a deal with me. It's mainly the scratches.

Its $80 shipping, so I'd rather not send 'em back, but I don't want to spend hours trying to polish out a scratch that won't come out.

What should I do??

Thanks,
Tim

A good vendor will take care of the shipping for you. I think you should take it up with the person you bought it from and see what he says. You can't fix the way he shipped it, but the condition of the units is possibly a direct result of the inadequete packing methods. If he blows you off, or doest offer to fix the problem, then a call to the BBB could help puch things, but that is ONLY a last resort

Thanks for the timely response. My brother contacted the vendor, he said some wax would take the marks out. These are not marks, they are scratches, and wax helped some, but the scratches remain. I'll try talking to him, as my brother is a bit of a pushover.

Thanks,
Tim

Default Where did you get this?

Is there a web site that you ordered from, or was it from one of the vendors? Is it just like Schwarf1's?

Their website is www.mashaw.com They don't have anything on the site about our cars, just Bimmers and Porsche. It does however, have their phone number. Give them a call, they're great to talk to. I don't know if shawrf1 is who you're talking about, but I think he used to have that lip on it. I posted asking about pics of his car, and the one's I saw, he had a new lip on it. It is the STi lip, only made of carbon fiber, and a lot cheaper, $350. It looks good, even off the car, my only problem was the poor packaging. My brother's looked awesome on his car, his is the WR Blue. The carbon fiber looks good with any color I think.

hey i got this lip also and it is definitly poor quality because it is only one layer of cf. the scratxhes came from the poor molding quality. ive seen a few others and the only problem is the way it fits also. its a very tight fit and it wil scratch ur car if ur not careful. i scratched up my whole front and it sucks. but it looks good

I just ordered one too for an upcoming car show. I hope it's quality is good or I'm going to be mad. I saw a greddy lip for under $200 on another vendors site. I should have got that to save some cash.
