Sell the cold air intake, go back to a stock one. You'll probably see better performance out of your car, sell that cold air and get something else that'll give you a real performance gain. Especially drop the intake if you do not have it tuned for it. it could damage your car. Stock subie intakes are engineered well for their purpose and will suit your needs to 400+ hp, some say even more than that. If anyone in a protune shop tells you otherwise they are just trying to sell you stuff you do not need.
Look out for boost creep with that turbo back, you'll have to have the wastegate adjusted accordingly with that pipe. I'd suggest a protune, look out for knock with the AP and that pipe. These cars are sensitive to turboback/catless. I have an older model with a turboback so I don't have any issues but I know the newer the get, the more sensitive they are to changes. Lastly I'd get it inspected by a top notch protune/subaru specialty place(non dealer). Check for vacuum leaks etc. |

Good news is you already have an access port so when they tune your car to the pipe you'll just have to pay for the man hours for them to give you a stage 2 tune. You should be fairly ready for stage 2 with that pipe. Most places charge like 125-200 bucks an hour to get it tuned. You're looking at a 3 hour tune to get her going sweet. After that drive her and enjoy your new beauty. Also post pics!

For a custom tune I think I`m looking 500-550$ , I wanna make sure AFR is OK and no boost spike on full boost. |

Also i was wondering about potential upgrade to stock turbo 2004+ that will fir my 05 STI. What i meant through the years Subaru update theit turbo with different code names. I was wondering which gen turbo got best reputation people upgrade to and I`m talking OEM turbo. NO Aftermarket for me. With Evo I rode 2 (FP and HKS) turbos to the ground , warranty was not honored of course.

You have yourself a very nice car to play with. You should already know this comig from the world of Evos, but aftermarket turbos are the shizznat, give them some thought.
