Talking Great Deal on Harbor Freight Racing Jack

I'm going to sound like a Harbor Freight salesman, which I'm not . In addition to the Harbor Freight cordless impact wrench I have, I also bought a lightweight aluminum racing jack. It's on sale now for $139 on their online store . The local in-store price is $199, but if you bring a print-out of the sales price, they will give it to you. The blue ones are usually more expensive than the silver ones, and for some reason, seems to work smoother than all the silver ones that my buddies have. Weighing in at around 35 lbs and only takes a few pumps to lift the car up, it works great at the auto-x. And the blue ones are pretty

Don't forget about the ghetto harbor freight torque wrench in your arsenal

By the way, I might have to be purchasing one of these for next season. Once my car is sufficiently low my ghetto jack won't fit under the rails. Its close as it is with the rear end sticking way up.

Ahhh...how can I forget about the almighty Harbor Freight torque wrench, which is on sale now for $9.99 (?). Since we brought it up, might as well give it a mini review:

On a scale of 1 to 10.
Value: 10
Accuracy: 1 (on a good day)

When my torque wrench grows up one day, it'll be a Craftsman unit

Don't know if these are the same that you are quoting, but they have a 3000# ali jack for $99.99.

I love the Mac one I have.... Since I got it (from one of my landscaping customers) I have not touched my Craftsman...

When it comes to spending $$ on torque wrench, the sky is the limit. Yeah, Mac, Snap-On, etc are very nice, but too rich for my blood. The Craftsman Digitorq is fine for my needs. The key to any torque wrench is getting it calibrated periodically, including the high end ones.

The one I got is p/n 40105-6VGA . Don't know if it's the same one you saw, but if it's really $99, that's the lowest price I've seen so far. It's currently still $139 on their website. Your local store may be having a special clearance.

U.S. General P/N 91039-0VGA
$99.99 on the website. I may have to get one if it is comparable to the one you have.

It appears to be the same jack. Don't know why the difference in pat number. Wow, $99 is a really good deal!

Harbor freight has had the Silver aluminum racing jack on sale for $129.00 in store price. Not sure how long that price is good for.

I just picked up an aluminum racing jack at Costco. I had shopped around for a long time and looked at different ones. I saw a $99 one at a swap meet type deal and it seemed to be the poorest quality all the moving parts felt rough. So it was between Harbor freight & Costco. The PowerLift at Costco had a feature I had never seen before. It is called one pump to chassis. So even if your car is up on jack stands you move the handle down once and its touching under your car ready to lift.

So it comes time to use it. Did a few lifts on the back of the car & everything was fine. First thing I notice is the handle takes a little more force to get things going but I figure that is the trade off for speed. Time comes to work on the front of the car. Little heavier so a little harder to lift. I get done working on the car time to take the car off jack stands. Grab the new jack and it seems even harder to lift car it feels as if I'm going to bend or break something on the jack. After I get the car down I take a close look at the jack used about 4 times the first day and I notice a part starting to bend (see picture upper arrow) So I give the paper work to my dad because it states clearly to call if you have problems instead of returning the Jack. My dad is told you can't hurt it so he puts it under the Escalade and after a couple pumps it stops lifting and some more stuff bends up (see picture lower arrow)
I was wondering how people like their harbor freight aluminum jacks? Looks like this one is going back.

A few local guys and myself have been using the HF aluminum jack for quite awhile now. I'm personally very happy with it. It does make some creaking noise but that's just the way it is. I use it quite regularly, as in at least once a week. I haven't bent anything so far.
You said their customer service said you can't hurt the jack, but it is only rated up to 3000 lbs. Isn't the front of the Escalade already more than 3000 lbs?! BTW, that jack you have looks like the same ones they sell at Kragen.

Total Escalade wieght is 6800lbs. Of course you only try to get 2 wheels off the ground at once. I wasn't the one that spoke with "Mr. You can't hurt the Jack" on the phone. I wouldn't have tried that myself.

how easy are the harbor freight jacks when lowering the car?

Is it sensitive enough so that you can turn it easily to let the car down, or do you have to use all of your force to turn the handle and then the car comes slamming down?

Just got my $99.99 Model 3939 Long Frame jack from Harbor Freight. Used it last night and it is fairly easy to modulate the handle to lower the jack. YMMV based on how clean your hands are. Too bad it is gold rather than the blue in the picture

I'm now the owner of a Harbor freight racing jack. Costco one goes back. Yes, it lowers great, I have perfect control of lowering speed. The parts that bent up on the PowerLift are made much stronger on the HF jack. The only thing I noticed is when lowering the car it makes some squeaking & creaking sounds but I don't mind.
