How about a get together in the Northbay?
Hey!
Anyone up for a get together in the Northbay. And it will have to be a Sunday. I work on Saturdays. May be a road trip and picnic lunch. How about some ideas on a destination?

Chewyguru - Are the roads gravel, dirt? Cop free? I'd be up for the drive - maybe make a whole weekend of it with the gf. I really want to put my new rims/tires to the test this weekend.

Wa HOO! I'd be up for it, We should realy hit the Marshal-Petaluma RD. I did most of my break in miles around there. Just got over 1K done. Its sooo great there just like a tarmac rally stage! would love to see how some modified suspensions handle it.

I'll go as well, but can't the next two weekends. I'll be out of town participating in the AidsRide from SF to LA.

Hey Chewyguru,
was that you behind me last friday on 101. I was in the silver RS. Anyway, I'm so down for a drive up to Mendocino. That's an awesome road. We can stop at Roderer and have some bubbly(if you're of age). -JOE |

Guys Thanks for the awesome response.
Maybe we can meet and look at a map and figure out some cool routes, based on everyones prefrences. I think traffic will suck this weekend like that hyundai ad. Well guys as I said I'm game for whatever, so let me know whats up! P.S. I have easment to the logging roads near my house. Than means a key to gates. I personally dont feel like destroying my paint job but if anyone wants to.... homer and sratos: were either of your cars at car-tunes in santa rosa? I may have ran into you there. Oh and I am of age. p.s.s Idjiit: I can offer fresh paved, old paved, dirt, what used to be paved and has reverted to dirt, sickeningly twisty roads and roads free of piggies. And if you need a place to stay near my place in Mendocino I can put you up. [This message has been edited by Chewyguru (edited May 31, 2001).] |

chewyguru,
That was me the store manager with my silver RS. The guy who owns the blue wrx is not a member yet. I am down for the ride up to medo county. The 128 and the road between Boonville and Point Arena is awsome. There is also Skaggs Springs road to Gualala and Hopland grade to Lake Port or HWy 128 to Lake Berryessa. Heck, there are tons of roads to take a trip on. I am up for this sunday.. |

Chewy, I was not in santa rosa. Been mostly around here...I got an Idea why dont we have a meet this Sunday for the peeps that can come and then have another when the rest of the folk are free to join us. If some one has a good meet point I can bring some maps. I have some good route, and am eager to leans some new ones.

I am definatly up for that.
I don't know how serious everypone is but i own some property 3hours away in mendocino county, that is off the 128(greeeat road)and on a road called mountain view(insane twisties) Although this may be alittle far it would be cool to get together go for a drive then have dinner/lunch or a barbacue or something. hehe Anyway I'm game for whatever! |

So is the idea that we're going to start in Santa Rosa, and drive to Mendocino? Then once we're there, we're going to race around on Chewy's property?
I may actually meet you guys up there, since I think my girlfriend and I may drive up there Saturday day, poke around, stay at a B&B, etc. I'm still open to the idea of driving up there together - so once ya'll have a more concrete plan together, let me know. |

I was hoping we would start in petaluma and head to the back roads to the west. Then do the medecino thing when more people can go. Why dont we make Hayscoob decide since he started the thread

Okay, let's try to do the following:
1) Decide on a meeting place and time in Santa Rosa to begin the drive to Mendocino (to Chewyguru's property). 2) Decide on a meeting time and place in Mendocino for people who only want to participate in the driving on Chewyguru's property, or who are already in the area (which I may be, depending on my gf's wishes). 3) Figure out who's got CB radios/Takabouts so we can coordinate the drives at Chewyguru's in a safe manner. Unfortunately, since I'm unfamiliar with both the originating and destination points - I can't help there. As far as the radios - I don't have any, but if someone's got one, and we need another - I'd be willing to spring for one. If it turns out we just plain don't got them, I'll have a good enough excuse at that point to purchase my own. |
