Just b/c Rubens said it, doesn't mean it's true though. He didn't fair any better at Honda or Brawn against Button, of course he probably thought the team was trying to sabotage him as well.

considering that webber has managed to beat vettel even without his better car i think the theory holds plenty of merit and goes some way as to explaining why webber gave them the verbal finger when he did it. |

Slight change in topic, does the FIA need to bring in a faster safety car? He's going flat out, but it seems to be far too slow considering the characteristics of the Pirelli tires. Maybe Ferrari should step up.

I think so...the car is fast in a straight line, and that Maylander dude is quick, but most of us have seen Top Gear, and that car can't tolerate any throttle while turning. I think the medical car could be quicker.

I'm a little surprised they use a C63 instead of maybe an E65 for the medical car. Maybe the E-class wouldn't fit through some places.
Seriously Ferrari, get a light bar on top of an F12 and show Mercedes what a real FR car can do. |

I'd love to see a McLaren MP4-12C pace car for a year.
Reminds me of a European Lemans series race I saw where it started raining heavily quite a few years back. The safety car (an '00 Subaru Impreza STI) was pulling away from the field because the water on track was so deep. |

All he's done is straight line testing (last I checked) for FIF1. I don't see that happening. Alex Rossi has a better shot in a slower teams, Caterham.

You do have to admit though, that it would take something pretty extraordinary to be a bigger surprise if that happened. |

Only reason Conor Daly has a better chance in getting into F1 then Rossi i would say is because conor's dad raced F1 back in the day and also, Conor has been killing it in gp3! First race in indy light, won the race. His speed and success is very very well for an American. Yes, Rossi is much closer and has already had a FP1 practice... but daly has been catching up faster and faster!

It's not out of the question that for the first time since the 1983 South African Grand Prix, there could be two American F1 drivers on the grid in the next couple of years. |

but picking someone who you already know will do well, wouldn't be a "Surprise" of 2013... i picked perez - either to do well or poorly would be a surprise to me. i expect him to be a 6-9th place guy in the mclaren.
on the subject of mercedes, don't they usually start their seasons strong, and then fade? citing budget reasons for the lack of mid-season development? *IF* that's true, i don't know what hamilton would do to to help. |

Hard to tell with Merc really. There was that whole BS mid-season where they were threatening to pull out, but in the end they cream-pied and snagged Lewis for the next few seasons. If Ross is up to his old tricks, he stopped developing the car once he knew the season was lost and starting working on the 2013 car.

that's what he said in 2010, 2011, and 2012. i srsly hope hamaton brings more sponsorship dollerz to the team so they can develop a car over a full season instead of just the preseason and first 6 races like they have done the last 3 years.

Has anyone ever read any articles about what it takes to gain personal sponsors in motor racing? I don't mean racers who own their own cars, either. I'm talking guys who go up through the open wheel ranks from karting and make it all the way to F1. Where do they get such huge sums of cash for wearing practically nothing on their helmets and overalls?
Whatever the answer, I've got to think Americans are at a disadvantage, especially when you look at how much billboard space there is to offer in NASCAR. Those guys look like they got sprayed with liquefied commercials. Quote:

I think perez will have good speed but will need to adjust to the car. Mclarens car i'm sure handles and feels much different then Suaber's car. It might be tuffer on tires but much quicker. Two smooth driver's in Mclaren is probably gonna be key to minimize pit stops. I def. want to see how Hamilton will compare to Nico Rosberg as we dont really know how good rosberg is! This will be a good test!

tbh i think perez is the next hamilton. as young as he is, with the team he's with, getting the results he does...
he's a little green/jittery at times but that's just a symptom of inexperience IMO. give it 24 months and i see him/vettel at each others throats (so to speak) assuming adrian newey doesn't design a 10x better car than mclaren in the new format. |

Anyone know what's going on with Marussia not getting the Concord Agreement? I can't find much detail.
