They are the 3 way coilovers. This is what Mike Bonnani ran on his 2nd place unlimited RWD car 2 years ago, and many others do as well. Don't know why its sour banana's but ok.

They are a cheap, non tested "3 way". You arent going to find a GOOD 2 way for under 4000, let alone a 3 way.

2nd place is a loser.

You get what you pay for.

For under $4,000 you can get a custom race coilover (similar to the clubsport but with deeper dampening characteristics) 2-way built by KW to your specs. As well, are you referring to testing on a shock dyno, or race testing with the Stance?

I know race testing has been on done on multiple drift cars, as well as other NASA/SCCA racing vehicles. On the shock dyno, I can gather that info for you. I myself am a huge fan of JRZ/Moton etc. I too was a hater of Stance back in the day, but after meeting with the owner, running their suspension on our cars, employee cars, we have really turned around our previous thoughts. As well, I have first hand toured the KW factory in Germany, and must say, I know what it takes to create a quality proper competitive coilover. I understand that the facility where Stance is made is not near what I saw at KW Germany, but their products have made winning teams succeed. For instance, Mike Bonanni ran Stance GR+ coilovers in his 350z Unlimited and took 2nd to my knowlege two years back. There are other competitors doing well with Stance, and we plan to keep working with them to further develop the suspension for the STI. I must say, the GR+ are not perfect for the STI, but with more input from our driver and team, we will move to a product that is on a competition level of those aformentioned. It is the goal of THMotorsports to decifer the good from the bad, and what purpose a certain suspension serves. We want to know that what we offer, can be used for racing if needed, and here we are to prove it!

Thats my Saturday night .02

Happy Motoring,

Edward

JRZ/Moton/KW> stance.

They don't use a shock dyno at all in their development or facilities. I don't understand how you could do the proper amount of research and development without that tool, even more so on a 3 way set-up.

Drift cars shouldn't even be talked about in a Time Attack or Road Race thread, let alone a suspension thread. I sure as hell wouldn't put a drift engineered piece on my car.

Best of luck to you and the car, I'm sure it will turn out nice. As soon as you get sick of the bottom of the podium, give Myles a call

Official Carbonetic/THMRacing press release

World Famous Carbonetic an Official Sponsor for THM Racing!

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE - March 2, 2010

Glenview, IL - Carbonetic has become a household name to motorsport enthusiasts. Their products are bar-none when it comes to vital components in racing. Utilizing carbon fiber as their main source of material in their products, friction coefficiencies are highly increased to offer longevity and durability. Carbonetic has been seen on some of the most recognizable race and drift cars all around the world and now they make their way into Redline Time Attack with the THM Racing team.

Being supplied for the THM Racing STi is a brand new product that is not out on the market called the "Carbonetic Blade Clutch Kit". With the new Carbonetic line, THM Racing will be investing R&D time on the race track for Carbonetic and the testing will also determine which kit will be best suited for the THM Racing STi. Specific data has yet to be compiled for the new clutch kit but what we can tell you is that it has a threshold of 650lbs. of torque and comes with a lightweight flywheel for faster response and lowered inertia, pressure plate and the amount of discs that will be used will be determined by the testing of the new line. With this new setup, THM Racing will be reducing quite a bit of drivetrain weight as this will result in a more efficient power transfer to the wheels, quicker acceleration as well as efficiently hold the power that the STi will produce.

In conjunction with the new Blade clutch kit, Carbonetic has provided front and rear carbon L.S.D.'s for the THM Racing STi - a crucial must for any track vehicle. The front differential system will be replaced with Carbonetic's 1.5-Way L.S.D. and the rear will be converted to a 2-Way carbon L.S.D. These components will allow the THM Racing STi to reduce under/over steer and enter and exit corners much faster with added traction. Rather than progressive traction which can hurt lap times, the Carbonetic system gives the THM Racing STi stable and linear traction during acceleration and deceleration which can improve lap times.

With the support of Carbonetic and their track-proven products, THM Racing is highly confident to prove exceptional results on the race track. We can't wait until race season starts!

Default Aero goodies from Version Select!

Sorry about not updating for a couple days, but i'm here to save the day with some new pictures. Over the past couple weeks we have pulled the engine, begun assembly on the new block(pics to come), and mocked up our Version Select GDB body kit. The Version Select kit is TOP NOTCH, and fits like a glove. With this baby we are sure to turn some heads! Check out the pics!

We received our Darton sleeves a couple of weeks ago, and they finally made their way into the block. Darton sleeves are some of the most highly regarded sleeves in the industry. With all the time and resources that have gone into this project. We were looking for only the best of the best when it came to building this car. Which is why we chose Darton!

Big thanks to our boy Johnny C!

Hey guys our sponsor, Forgeline, sent us 6 of their new EV3R rims. They are THM spec, built to our exact specification. Color, offset and everything else was hand chosen by the THM team. Forgeline worked their magic, and delivered us the wheels in record time. They are 18×10.5 +17ETA. The wheels are incredibly light, peep the pictures to see just how light they are. Thanks again Forgeline! Be sure to check out http://www.forgeline.com

The wheels were finished with translucent red outers and gunmetal centers

Let us know what you think!

In other news, countdown begins for the New Jersey event and our car getting finished after this weekend. Everything is coming down to the wire, so you might just see us missing a few bolts out there No biggy, with our team and sponsors, I'm sure we'll prevail.

Default CAGE RAGE and some tasty R888s!

6 point, custom weld in!

Cage was built by Motive Motion in Itasca, IL

Mike @ MM turned this around for us in record time. The pictures don't do it justice. Mike is truly a craftsman who is one with his welder.

Toyo R888s!

Specs 275/35/18

We can't wait to get these mounted on the Forgeline's and get some pics. Big shout out to Stan over @ Toyo for taking such good care of us.
